Popcorn Garland is a Christmas tradition almost as old as Christmas itself. Gather the family and pop a few bags of unbuttered popcorn. Hand each person a bowl of popcorn, a needle, and a spool of thread. Put on your family's favorite Christmas movie or take turns having each of you share your favorite Christmas memories.

Cranberry Christmas Garland

Cranberries are another popular homemade Christmas garland. Their vibrant red color strung around the house is sure to put anybody in the Christmas spirit. You can string your cranberry garland along stairs, a fireplace, Christmas tree, doorways, and anywhere else you want to see a splash of Christmas color. For even more Christmas charm, string two holly leaves for every 10 - 20 cranberries on your Christmas garland.

Light Up Wreath

If you don't have a budget for one of the more expensive ones, consider making your own wreath. You can purchase a plain green wreath inexpensively. A box of Christmas lights can be purchased for under $3.00. To make you wreath really stand out you can add a large bow or even secure a large stuffed Christmas toy in the center. Those who pass your home will admire your beautiful Christmas wreath and they will never know you saved money by making it yourself.

Cinnamon Bundles

Just the scent of cinnamon evokes Christmas cheer. Take a handful of cinnamon sticks and wrap a piece of Christmas ribbon around them. Tie the bundles to large pillar candles for a quick, easy, fragrant Christmas centerpiece. You can hang or place them around your home for weeks of fresh cinnamon scent. Visitor will think you always have cookies in the oven. You may also gather, wash, and attach pine cones to the cinnamon bundles furthering the Christmas aroma.

Christmas Potpourri

If you have varying sizes of glass canisters, jars, and vases you can fill them with fresh holly, cranberries, chestnuts, pine cones, cinnamon sticks, and anything else that holds the scent of Christmas time. Set the glasses around the house to add the essence of Christmas.
