If you are looking for an easy craft to make with your kids for Easter, these paper Easter bunny ears fit the bill. You can make these ears using paper, glue and scotch tape. That's all you need! The ears are worn like a headband and can be decorated as desired or left as is. These ears make the perfect party hat for a child's Easter party. It's also a fun craft the kids can do at the party.

To make your Easter bunny ears, you will need some sort of paper. Poster board will make very sturdy ears, but construction paper works great too. If you don't have either, or if you like to recycle, you can also use newspaper or magazine pages.

Cut a band of paper to fit around your child's head. If you are using newspaper, you will want to fold the paper over a few times to make a thick band that won't tear easily. After you cut the band, wrap it around the child's head and cut to fit. Secure the ends of the band with tape.

Next you need to cut two bunny ears. You can cut them long, short, wide or narrow. When the ears are cut, glue them to the inside of the band at the back (the back is the end that was taped together). Then cut some pink paper or any alternating color paper into smaller ears and glue those inside the larger ears to form the inside of the ears. You can see an image here of Easter bunny ears made with white poster board and pink construction paper.

If you want more elaborate bunny ears, you can cover the ears with felt or faux fur. Just glue the fabric on to the paper ears. In this case, you should use ears cut from cardboard, such as cereal box cardboard. The cardboard will be stiff enough to hold up the fabric ears.

For ears that bend, you can glue pipe cleaners to the back of the ears. Then when you fold over the ear, it will stay in place. If you don't want the pipe cleaner to show, you can glue the wire between two matching ear pieces, like making an sandwich.

You can make a variety of headbands using this method. One idea is to make an Indian headdress by cutting colorful feather shapes out of paper and gluing those to the headband. You can make elephant ears by cutting large ears from gray paper and gluing them to the sides of the headband. Just let your imagination run wild!
