Easy Homemade Gift: Chocolate Milk Bath

Let Them Soak in a Hot Chocolate Bath!

Darlene Michaud
If you are looking for an easy gift you can make for someone, and if that person just happens to love chocolate, you can make them a chocolate mixture that they can pour into their bath water! This chocolate treat will not add calories to their diet, but instead, will help them relax. It's a whole new way to enjoy chocolate!

To make chocolate milk bath, you need just three ingredients: powdered milk, cocoa and cornstarch. All these ingredients can be found at your local supermarket. The cocoa is the plain cocoa that is used for baking. It's not the kind you use to make instant chocolate milk.

You will also need a container to hold the chocolate milk bath. The container can be any type of container with a lid. Since this container will be near a tub, you might want to look for something plastic so it will not fall into the tub and break.

If you can't find the right container to fit the occasion, you can always put the chocolate milk bath in a zip lock bag then put the bag in any container you like. You could put the bag inside an empty box of chocolate (that's almost mean!) or in an empty mug, or decorative vase, or holiday tin.

How much chocolate milk bath you need to make depends on how big your container is. Start by mixing 2 cups of powdered milk with 1/4 cup of cocoa and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. If that is not enough, make more as needed. If you want a scented bath, you can also add a teaspoon of cinnamon to the mix.

Mix the chocolate milk bath well then pour into your container or bag. You may want to add a decorative label with instructions as to how to use the mixture. Just print out a simple label with the name "Chocolate Milk Bath" and instructions "Add 1/2 cup to bath water" so they know what to do with the gift. You might also look for some clip art of a tub to print on the label.

This chocolate milk bath makes a great party favor too! You can bag individual 1/2 cup portions and tie the bag off with ribbon. Then make a small tag with directions to just add to bath water. It's a party favor they are sure to use!
