Lego Block Costume- For this homemade costume all you need is a cardboard box, paper cups, paint and glue. Choose a box that the person can easily fit into since this will be the body of the Lego block. Cut a hole in the top for the person's head to fit through and a hole on each side for their arms. Use the glue to attach the cups to the box in straight rows. After it is all completely dry, paint the whole box any color that you would like. Spray paint is easy to use for this. When it is completely dry put on a matching sweatsuit and then place the box over it. There you go! You are a Lego block.
Fall Leaves Costume- For this costume you will need a hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants in black, brown, yellow or orange. Just make sure it is an Autumn inspired color. You will also need silk leaves and safety pins. You just pin the silk leaves all over the sweatsuit to become Fall Leaves. As an accessory you could carry around a bag full of real fallen leaves. This is a very quick and cheap costume.
Easy Pumpkin Costume- For this costume you will need an orange sweatshirt larger then you normally wear and a dark colored pair of sweatpants (preferably black). Put the sweatshirt on and start crumpling up newspaper. Stuff the newspaper into the sweatshirt until you have a nice round pumpkin body. If the sweatshirt doesn't have a drawstring at the bottom then you can use a belt or string of yarn to help keep the bottom of the sweatshirt closed and keep the newspaper in it. If you would like to, you can use black fabric paint to create a jack-o-lantern face on the front of the sweatshirt.
Easy Apple Costume- A variation on the easy pumpkin costume would be an apple costume. You would do all the same steps as above but with one small change. You would use a red sweatshirt instead of the orange for the pumpkin. Very easy!
Flower Costume- For this costume you will need a green hooded sweatsuit and some felt of any color to make the flower petals from. Make a petal template out of a sheet of paper and use it to cut your flower petals out of the felt. I liked petals about six inches long. Glue the petals all around the face of the sweatshirt hood. Once it dries your costume is complete.
Army Costume- For this costume all you need to do is wear anything camouflage or khaki colored. You could find items at thrift stores and/or your local army surplus store. You could also find some accessories like a helmet, canteen or army cap. You can even paint your face with green, brown and black makeup face paint.
Basketball Player- This is an easy costume also. You just need a basketball jersey and matching shorts. You can carry around a towel and a sports drink as accessories.
A Bunch Of Grapes- You will need a clear plastic trash bag, strong tape and a package of either red, green or purple balloons. Cut a slit in the bottom of the trash bag large enough for your head to fit through and cut a slit on each side for your arms to fit through. Blow up all of the balloons and then tape the balloons all over the trash bag to form the bunch of grapes. This Halloween costume looks best if you are also wearing clothes under it that match the "grape" color you chose.
Easy Ghost Costume- For this costume you will need a white sweatsuit, about 3 yards of white fabric, white and black make-up and white glitter body spray. Take the white fabric and cut a hole in the middle of it large enough for your head to fit through. All you will need to do is put on the white sweatsuit, place the white fabric over your head, paint your face with the white and black make-up and then spray your hair with the white body glitter spray. You can sprinkle baby powder in your hair instead of the spray body glitter if you prefer. There you are, you're a ghost!
Basket of Laundry- You will need the lightest and probably the cheapest laundry basket you can find. Some clothesline, clothes and clothespins. Cut a hole in the bottom of the laundry basket large enough for the person to fit through. Next take the clothesline and cut two pieces long enough to use as suspenders. Tie them to the laundry basket and these will hold the basket on the person. Cut them so that the basket is about waist high. Lastly hang clothes in and on the basket and also use the clothespins to hang clothes all over the person.
Easy Mummy Costume- For this costume all you need is a white sweatsuit, some white fabric torn into strips and some white and black face paint. Put on the sweatsuit and have someone help tie the fabric strips all around you. Then paint your face white with black circles around your eyes. Sprinkle some baby powder in your hair for "dust".
Black Cat- You will need a black sweatsuit or just black pants and a black shirt, black felt and black face paint. Cut the black felt into a long strip to form the tail. You can just use a safety pin to attach the tail to the back of the pants. Last year I use some leftover black fleece I had, sewed it and stuffed it with pillow stuff to for a thicker tail. Use the black face paint to create whiskers and a black nose. If you would like some cat ears you can make some out of black construction paper. Cut a strip long enough to wrap around your forehead. Cut out some triangles for the ears and staple or glue them to the headband. Slip on your head and you now have cat ears.
Mother Nature- To become Mother Nature you will need a brown skirt and shirt, several different types of silk leaves, flowers and plants and a glue gun. Use the glue gun to attach the silk leaves, flowers and plants all over the shirt and skirt. If you would like to you could also add feathers and fake birds or other animals.

Post a Commenthi my name is selina im 10 years old and i love donuts and i was wodring if you can make a dount costume for this haloween
We made the pumpkin one a long time ago for our daughter! To add cuteness to it you can cut off both sleeves at about the middle (between your wrist and elbow) size one of the sleeves on your childs head, sew the part that you cut it from (so its even) and color the cuff part green or brown with a fabric marker or regular marker. Then you have the top of a pumpkin as a hat!
the costumes are great i love them she loves hers so next year im coming back here
I remember last year i was a head for dinner, all we did was stick a piece of cardboard over my head, and then put a tablecloth over, and then shaped foil into the shape of a plate around my head and edged my neck with blood made of salsa and ketchup. We made dark circles under my eyes and gave me dark lipstick. Then we set a place on either side of me with paper plates and plastic forks, knives, and cups. It ws so hilarious, and it was a little scary at the same time.
Good write up to save money
