Easy Homemade Mother's Day Gifts for Kids to Make

V. L. Hamlin
Make mom feel special on Mother's Day and every day with homemade gifts she can use through out the year.

Mom works hard all the time to make you feel special, but how often do you let her know you are grateful for all she does? Get creative with your craft supplies and make your Mother a gift she will treasure forever.

Coupons for chores

Do not make her beg you to do your daily chores. Create a booklet filled with coupons for housework that mom can redeem at any time. You will need several sheets of construction paper, a stapler, markers or crayons, and flat decorations like stickers or glitter. Fold each individual sheet of construction paper in half and staple three times along the folded side of the paper. Write a household chore on each coupon and decorate the coupons to match the chore.

Floral fingerprints

Moms love flowers, but unfortunately flowers are not everlastingly. Get out your paints and decorate a clear vase with floral fingerprints so she can enjoy "flowers" forever. Dip the pad of your finger in to the paint and press your fingerprint on to the vase; create flower petals by making several prints in a circle, and then add one fingerprint to the center to complete the flower.

Get a "hold" on mom's favorite recipes

Create a gift for mom that ensures your favorite dinner will be on the table. You will need a small plant pot, a ball of clay, a plastic fork, and silk flowers to make a recipe card holder. Fill the bottom of the pot with clay and press the handle of a plastic fork in to the center of the clay. Decorate around the fork by sticking the stems of silk flowers in to the clay. Write your favorite recipes or meal ideas on to squares of paper and insert them in to the fork holder before presenting the gift to Mom.
