Easy Homemade Playhouse Disney Halloween Costumes for Girls

Tara Van Ness
If your daughter loves Disney as much as my daughter, especially Playhouse Disney, she may want to be a character from Playhouse Disney for Halloween. Disney princesses like Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, and such are very popular, but if you are looking for a more unique kid's costume that you can make yourself, these suggestions for homemade costumes with a Playhouse Disney Theme may help!

Jojo from Jojo's Circus

This is an adorable character on Playhouse Disney. The costume for Jojo is fairly easy to make. Jojo wears a blue beret with a red pompom on top and she has bright red hair. You can achieve this by putting your daughter's hair up and attaching red yarn to a blue beret. Jojo the clown also has a bright red nose of course, that you can paint on with face paint or Halloween make-up. She wears a bright yellow shirt with bright paint splatters on it. You can cut freeform shapes from felt and attach them with fabric glue, or just splatter paint on a yellow shirt. Jojo from Playhouse Disney also wears calf-length red and orange striped pants. You can get away with a solid color though. She wears bright blue socks and red clown shoes. You can just paint or dye white Keds red if you like to achieve the same look.

Nina from Imagination Movers

Nina from Imagination Movers is an increasingly popular character. She is the neighbor and friend of The Movers. She sings, dances, is helpful, and fun. Nina wears variations of pink and red. Typically Nina wears a short-sleeve button up pink shirt with red polka dots on it. You can cut polka dots out of felt and attach them. She wears either a red and white flounce skirt or red pencil Capri pants with red slip on flats. Imagination Movers Nina also wears her hair in fun styles like braids or pig tails. She has a very boring uncle named Uncle Knit Knots who wears a beige suit, a beige bow tie and slicked hair. It would be cute to have your child's dad take them trick-or-treating dressed as Uncle Knit Knots and Nina from Disney Playhouse's Imagination Movers.

Darby from My Friends Tigger and Pooh

Darby is adorable. She is the little girl who plays in the Hundred Acre wood with Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, Rabbit, Piglet and the gang on My Friends Tigger And Pooh. You could even have your daughter be Darby dressed in her super sleuth costume. This is a great Halloween costume for girls who are not interested in Disney princesses. Darby wears greenish cargo pants, a white t-shirt, with a long purple basketball type shirt over it. You can make this easy costume more authentic if your daughter has siblings who could be Tigger and Pooh. Also, to make Darby a super sleuth, all you need is a blue baseball cap with an inverted yellow triangle and a green question mark on it. This can easily be done with felt or construction paper. This is a simple, last minute Halloween costume!

These are only three of many ideas for homemade Halloween costumes for girls inspired by Playhouse Disney Characters. Happy Halloween!
