Easy Homemade Thanksgiving Decorations

Easy Homemade Thanksgiving Decorations - Are you stuck trying to decorate for Thanksgiving but can't seem to find anything that seems right? Perhaps you've looked at center pieces for your table, or other table decorations, but you can't afford to spend fifty or more dollars on just a center piece alone! Here are some simple and affordable decorations you can make at home, and even your kids can get in on the decorating!

If you have any note cards, you already have half of the supplies to make simple yet cute name cards. Use any kind of markers, crayons, colored pencils, stickers, or anything you want to use to decorate. The name tags are simple but really stand out and are a great way to help organize if you have a large number of guests for dinner.

Instead of spending an arm and leg buying a pre-made center piece, buy some pieces that are cheaper and create your own center piece. You can buy baskets shaped like a cornucopia which you can turn into something wonderful by gluing fake pieces of fruit to the edges of the basket, filling in the gap. You can also use floral Styrofoam and metal wires to stick the fruit inside the basket without permanently attaching the pieces. To do this, begin by inserting the foam into the cornucopia, making sure it is tight and won't fall out. Next, take the floral wires and insert into each piece of fruit, and then insert other end into the foam, cutting down with wire cutters if fruit sticks out too far. This center piece is not only creative and looks beautiful on the table but you can get all of the materials needed for only half the price of buying a center piece that is pre-made.

Thanksgiving is about being with family and sharing the things that you are thankful for in your life. Why not try incorporating this idea into your decorations? For these decorations, you can use various items such as construction paper, markers, sharpies, stickers, or anything else you want to use. In order to create these wall decorations, you can cut any shapes you want, such as turkeys or leaves, and you can cut them free hand, trace a cookie cutter, or simply print out a design to use. You can then use your cut out design and write things that you are grateful for. These decorations add personality and flare, and are great for company to look at either before, after, or even while eating!

Decorations don't have to be expensive, and they don't have to be difficult to make either. I hope that these ideas sparked some imagination, and I hope that your Thanksgiving is filled with much happiness, wonderful food, and great décor!!
