Tiffany Bell
Decorating for Christmas is not complete until you have decorated your front door welcoming people into your house for Christmas. Christmas decorations for your front door do not have to be expensive. They also don't have to be hard to make on your own. There are several different ways that you can decorate your front door this Christmas without spending a lot of money or hard work.

Here are some homemade Christmas decorations for your front door that are easy and inexpensive.

1. Make Your Front Door a Present

Christmas decorations don't have to be intricate and hard. Making your front door a present this Christmas is really simple. Take some Christmas wrapping paper that you have around the house and simply tape it onto your door. Cover your entire door with the Christmas wrapping paper so that it looks like a present. Finish off your front door decoration by adding some ribbon tied into a bow across the middle of the door. You can also add a piece of paper or cardboard that acts like a gift tag for the present. You can write a personal message on the gift tag or keep it simple and write "Merry Christmas."

2. Snowman Christmas decoration

For this homemade Christmas decoration for your front door you will need a large piece of cardboard, poster board or plywood if you have it. If you don't have a piece large enough as you would like, you can tape or glue pieces of cardboard or poster board together. Draw the shape of a snowman on the paper or plywood. Make the snowman large enough to cover almost your entire door. Cut out the snowman and paint it white. You can also paint on the snowman's face and buttons if you like. To add a special touch to your snowman Christmas decoration, tie a winter scarf around the snowman's neck. You can also have the snowman holding a sign that says "Merry Christmas," or "Welcome." Hang the snowman on a front door hook holder for Christmas decorations and you know have a welcome man at your front door for Christmas.

3. Snowflake Front Door

If you have children in you house, then you are probably aware of how to make paper snowflakes. But, what you may have never thought about is using paper snowflakes as Christmas decorations for your front door. To make the paper snowflakes look even more festive and creative, add some glitter or paint to them. Or you can make the snowflakes out of solid colored Christmas wrapping paper, such as gold, silver, and red, that you already have at your house. Use sticky putty or tape to adhere the paper snowflakes to your front door. This Christmas decoration for your front door is extremely inexpensive and easy and it's something that the whole family can do together.

4. Ornaments as Front Door Christmas Decorations.

Who doesn't have extra ornaments laying around their house during Christmas? If you don't have extra Christmas ornaments to use as Christmas decorations for your front door, then visit your local dollar store or discount store and you can find plenty of cheaper Christmas ornaments for your front door. Look for Christmas ornaments that will stand out against the color and design of your front door, such as white balls, crystal snowflakes, and shiny stars. Hang the Christmas ornaments using hooks that adhere to your front door and will not ruin it.

5. Christmas Print-Out Sign or Scene

You would be amazed at what you can find on the internet for Christmas print-outs. Use the internet to find different Christmas pictures or signs that you can place on your front door. If you want to have a Santa's workshop on your front door, look for print-outs and pictures of Santa Clause, presents, elves, candy, and reindeer with a sleigh. Print out the pictures from your computer and if you need to make the images bigger by enhancing them. To make the Christmas decorations a little more stable, glue them onto cardboard then adhere them to your front door. You can have your own little creative Christmas scene played out on your front door or Christmas sign to welcome all your guests. If you want you can print out the free coloring pages offered online and have your kids color the images and then put them on your front door.
