Easy Maintenance Beauty Routine for Runners

K. F. Lynn

Keeping up with beauty routines isn't always easy when you're going on 3-mile jogs every morning and then hitting up the gym for 1-2 hours every day. While working out is a fantastic way to feel great on the inside, there's no need to sacrifice feeling beautiful on the outside. For most runners/exercisers (myself included), after showering and fueling up with a protein shake it becomes routine to just keep on trucking to get to the next part of the day. Fussing with makeup and getting fancy with your hair doesn't seem all that important if you're just going to sweat it off. But there are a few easy beauty routines for women who bust butt in the gym. Check out this low maintenance beauty regimen for runners!

Wash your hair and let it air dry. There is nothing easier than letting your hair dry naturally! Use a clarifying shampoo to remove sweat and grease buildup from your scalp and a thick creamy conditioner to restore your hair to a healthy shine and soft texture.

Scrub your skin with a loofah. You'd be shocked at how much dead skin schluffs off after you've been sweating hard (too much information? Sorry about that…)! Giving your body a quick rub down with a loofah in the shower is a fast way to get your body super clean and soft, leaving you feeling rejuvenated after a long workout.

Exfoliate your face with raw sea salt. Using water and sea salt to gently exfoliate your skin is a perfect, natural way to leave your face feeling soft and brand new. Salt is a natural exfoliant - ever wondered why your skin feels so silky after you crawl out of the ocean? Hello, sea salt!

Vitamins. If you're not already taking them, vitamins are one of the most vital parts of a runner's beauty routine. While makeup and curling irons may not be the easiest way to go after a workout. Taking a multi-vitamin such a Biotin will target your hair, skin and nails giving you a strong, beautiful and natural foundation that will result in less fussing with makeup.

Going simple and beautiful is the way to be for a running woman. Taking a few minutes to do small things here and there as a part of an easy beauty regimen is a great way to make you feel as great on the outside as you do on the inside-remember, just because we are always on the move doesn't mean we don't all deserve to feel beautiful!
