Preparation time: About 5 minutes.
Cooking time: None
What you need:
1 tub of Philadelphia ready to Eat cheesecake filling
1 Box of Nilla Wafers
Strawberries
Blueberries
How to make it:
Clean and slice the strawberries thinly.
Clean the blueberries.
Take the Nilla Wafers and place them on a serving dish. Then put about a quarter of an inch of the Philitelphia Ready to Eat cheesecake filling on them but do not over power the Nilla Wafers with the filling.
You could place the fruit in such a way to make it look like the American Flag.
For instance in the left upper corner place the blueberries on the wafers so that the white filling is showing to make them look like the stars on the flag. You can use the strawberries to resemble the red stripes on the flag and you could leave some of the wafers just with the cheesecake filling so that it resembles the white strips on the flag. Place them in horizontal rows so that they interchange and resemble the red and white stripes on the American Flag.
When you are finished, it is time to eat and enjoy.
Variations:
You may use raspberry and cherry. Unfortunately, there is no other blue color fruit that I know of.
Comments:
Who said making a cheesecake has to be difficult. These mini deserts taste very much like a cheesecake and there is no baking involved. There is no crust to crumble and/or to burn. These are also very inexpensive and require very little preparation time.
The other bonus to these mini desserts is that you could pack the cheesecake filling and the fruit into a cooler and take it anywhere. I have taken this to many kinds of parties and just about everywhere. Remember however, the cheesecake filling must be kept cold or it will spoil. So please do not for get the ice for the cooler.
These mini cheesecakes make a very colorful addition to a 4th of July party and your friends and family will definitely go back for seconds, thirds, fourths,...
Note:
Do not prepare them the day before. They must be prepared just before they will be eaten or the Nilla Wafers will become soggy. I figured this out the hard way so please trust me on this. After all, what could be worse then a soggy dessert.
