Easy Mother's Day Gift Ideas She Will Love

Fool Proof Gifts that Any Mom Would Be Proud Of!

For many people, shopping for Mother's Day is a difficult task. Men are often stressed out about what they should get their mother or their wife.

People, I am here to be your salvation this year! You do not have to stress or spend countless hours walking aimlessly around the mall for some silly knick knack that will sit on your mother's shelf collecting dust. I personally am not a fan of knick knacks! Shopping for Mother's Day this year can take as little as five minutes if you want! Here are some gift ideas that I have given in the past that have received rave reviews from my Mom!

Pamper her! Go to a local day spa and grab a quick gift certificate. You mother will have plenty of services to choose from to use her gift certificate on. My mother always uses hers on pedicures, since Mother's Day is at the beginning of "Sandal Season". It's a simple way to say "Thanks" for all those years she wiped your nose and your bottom! The least you can do is pamper her!

Never fail flowers! I, personally, don't like to give flowers for Mother's Day, but some mom's love them! Instead of giving cut, fresh flowers that die in less than a week, try giving her a hanging basket that will last all summer long. Another great idea, if you have children, they can help you paint a planter and then fill it with your mom's favorite summer flowers.

Smooooooth hands and feet! Although lotions and shower gels are a great idea, if you are planning to give these kinds of things for Mother's Day, make sure you know your mother's favorite brand and scent. Every brand with the same scent still smells different! If your mom has a large stock of these things already, go to your local body care store and buy her things like loofahs, lip balm, pumice stone, candles, and even a manicure set to put in a gift basket.

Preserve her memories! If you're a scrap-booker, one year, I took all the pictures I could find of my mother's parents and I made a small scrapbook album for her. The pictures had been in boxes for years, now the album sits on her coffee table and she can look at it whenever she wants to. She cried her eyes out when she opened this gift. It was even more personal, because I had made it myself.

Say Cheese! Get your mother a gift certificate to a professional photographer and get a family portrait taken. Mother's often complain that they don't have any "recent" pictures of their kids. In the gift certificate, you pay for the sitting and then a certain amount for reprints and framing.

Diamonds are a girl's best friend! You can never go wrong with jewelry. Some women are very particular about what style of jewelry they wear, so make sure that you know what your mother's jewelry style is before dropping a lot of money on a beautiful piece of jewelry.

Does she have a favorite musician, theater show, or does she love ballet? Get her tickets to an event near you. The catch, you go with her! You may hate it, but you mother would be thrilled to have you sitting next to her on that special occasion. It will be a memory you cherish forever.

Gift Certificate Mania! Many people think it is very impersonal, but when you're in a pinch, you can make gift certificates a great gift. Make sure you get her a gift certificate from a place she shops often or is near her home. I've gotten gift cards for stores that I still haven't used because they are so far away. Another great idea is gift certificates to her favorite restaurants. Put these gift certificates in a bouquet of flowers or just put them in a beautiful card.

Give her a Mini-Mommy vacation! If you're looking for a gift for a woman with small children, the best gift you can give her is "TIME OFF"! This year, that is exactly what I am getting. Whether it be a weekend away with her spouse, friend, or even alone...let her get away. What I am doing is that my best friend and I are escaping to follow our favorite musical artist for three of his shows. I cannot wait!

I hope this list of gifts takes a little bit of the stress off of your Mother's Day shopping this year. Just keep your chin up and be proud of what you are giving her! It is true, it is the thought that counts, but if the gift sucks, man, I don't know what to tell you! Just put a little thought into your giving, then she will love it!
