Easy No Cost Tips to Help Get in Shape - Use What's Around the House!

Andrew Berry
Alot of people think getting in shape costs a lot of money. My tips help you exercise while doing daily routines throughout your house using what is readily available to you. There's more to use than you think! Even if you live in a dirt floor house you can easily do use some of the tips I will discuss.

Stairs Aren't Just For Walking

Everytime you run up and down the stairs you're easily burning calories. However, you can put more use to those stairs! Everytime you reach the third or fourth step from the top, put your hands out to the top step and do a certain amount of push-ups. The elevation the stairs grants has personally helped me "feel the burn" a little more. Make a pact with yourself to do a certain amount of push-ups every time you run up the stairs, no matter what the reason is. Once that amout gets easy, increase the amount.

The Old Fashioned Sit-up

Sit-ups are great for ab workouts, but they can be stressful to your back if you're not used to doing them already on a normal basis. Use a mat, towels, or another cushiony object to help cushion your back so it does't hurt as much. Doing sit-ups on a hard floor can hurt your tailbone, as well as your back, and it's just plain uncomfortable.

Move Over Sheep!

The bed is an elevated surface in which you can use for many things including sit-ups, leg lifts, push-ups, and more. Since we have discussed the push-up and sit-up, this section is for leg lifts. Leg lifts can especially be helpful when applying weight to the feet. Of course you should only apply weight to the feet if you can handle it. If you cannot handle it, you can hurt yourself easily.

Lay on your back on your bed so your legs are dangling off the side. Make sure your feet do not hit anything when you raise them since that might hurt, and that's not good. Raise your legs about level with the rest of your body and a little higher, then slowly lower them back to a slightly elevated position off the ground while still laying on your back on the bed. Repeat this process multiple times until you simpy cannot do anymore. Working out is hard word, and pushing yourself to the limit is the best way to build endurance, and to also maximize the current work out and future work outs as well.

H2O Friendly

Make water your drink of choice, at least when in the house. Every calorie you do not take in accumulates over time, helping you slim down from virtually doing minimal tasks such as-- drinking water. Water is good for hydration and doesn't contain sugar and stuff like soda and most other beverages do. Drink lots of water to help clean out your system as well to keep yourself especially healthy.

Pumping Detergent

It's time to work out those arms. If you not have actual work out weights, I suggest using laundry detergent. Please choose two laundry detergent bottles that are equal in weight, and have the same shape... so basically get two identical bottles of laundry detergent. The handles on the laundry detergent especially help with keeping a grip on the bottles when putting them to their "other" use. Put your arms at your sides with the palm of your hands facing outward (away from you). Keep the inside of your forearms facing outward as well, and keep your wrists flat. Then simply lift the laundy detergent bottles up to your shoulders while keeping your elbows at their original location. Make sure to squeeze your arms while reaching the top of the motion.

Ending Note

I suggest that you get into a daily routine and promise yourself to do these simple work outs with household items. There is minimal cost to you, and exercise is simply good for you and your health.

My tips do not override the help a personal trainer can really give you since they are certified specialists in the area of working out, the anatomical works, health, and more. These are merely simple steps to help accumulate some extra exercise in your daily life.
