Okay, the holidays are approaching and you really need to earn a few extra dollars to make it through. You are not alone. The job market floods pretty quickly once the holiday season starts to roll around and the competition is tough. In this article you will find several seasonal job tips to aid you in locating and securing those extra bucks a holiday job can provide.

1.Start holiday job hunting early. Many people look for extra ways to make money during the holiday season. The earlier in the holiday season the better the chances you have of landing that highly sought after extra income a holiday job can provide.

2.Accept the fact that most holiday jobs require night and weekend hours. The closer you get to the holidays the more hours and weekends you can expect to work.

3.Have names of references handy. Be sure to have current phone numbers, both daytime and evening.

4.A great place to look for a Christmas job is at a Christmas Tree farm. If you don't have a Christmas Tree farm in your area try visiting your local nursery. Expect to work right up until Christmas Eve or until the last tree is sold.

5.When you land that interview for a holiday job be sure to have a game plan for traveling to and from work. An employer will be impressed knowing you have thought out how to get to and from work, signaling you are responsible and a pretty good bet to be reliable.

6.If at all possible offer your resume when applying for a holiday job. Be sure your resume emphasizes any pertinent experience which would show a prospective employer your knowledge and skills.

7.Turn off your cell phone when on an interview for that holiday job.

8.Be honest about what hours you are available to work. Being iffy about your schedule gives the impression you are not serious.

9.Whether you are filling out an application, or asking a clerk about available holiday jobs in their establishment ask for the full name of someone you can contact regarding your interest in working.

10. Make a follow up phone call or visit once you have made your interest known about getting that seasonal job. That extra phone call or visit, where you mention your name again and express your desire to be employed there is sure to stick out in the prospective employers mind.

Follow these no nonsense, practical, and easy steps and you'll be sure to get that highly sought after holiday job. Good Luck and Happy Holiday Job Hunting!!
