For this no-sew pizza costume, you will need a half of yard of red felt, 1 sheet of each orange, green, white and tan felt and a half a yard of cream felt. There is no sewing involved. This project does take a lot of glue sticks so make sure you have a backup supply for your glue gun.
Cut two identical circles out of the red felt. The size will depend on the size of the child you are making it for. Measure across your child's chest and add 4 inches. This will be the diameter of your circle. Put glue all over one circle and place the other circle on top.
Cut a 4-inch strip of the cream felt long enough to wrap around the outside of your red circle. Place in on a flat surface. Fold it like a letter into thirds. Glue it so it stays shut. Then glue it to the outside edge of the red circles forming the crust.
Take your sheets of felt and freehand toppings on them. Orange is for pepperoni, green is for green peppers, white is for cheese and tan is for mushrooms. Get creative and add more toppings if you like. Banana Peppers, sausage, anchovies and black olives would be easy to do. Just make sure you buy the felt sheets in the colors you will need. Cut out all the toppings and glue them on the inside of the red circles.
If you have a younger sibling who needs a costume you can cut a slice of the pizza out. Make sure you glue all of the raw edges from the cut so the costume stays together. This cut out slice is great for a child still in a stroller. It is small enough it won't interfere with them sitting down. If you don't need a second costume don't do this step.
Safety pin the pizza and slices to your child's clothes. You can buy a red sweat suit or you can pin it to your child's regular clothes. You're done! This is an easy and inexpensive cute costume for a toddler.
