The weather is getting better and you are probably ready to get out of the house more and enjoy the warmer sunny days. Its probably been awhile since you puttered around your yard and enjoyed a nice cold beverage on your patio or deck. Since most outdoor stuff has accumulated a small layer of dust and dirt , it could use a good cleaning among keeping up with other things out and around your property. For easy spring time home maintenance I've listed a variety of outdoor things to do so that you'll be ready to enjoy your yard earlier than usual and with barbecue season coming up this list can come in handy.

Rake up the yard

Get a rake and collect all those scattered left over leaves and miscellaneous items throughout your yard so your grass can get a head start and look its best this summer.

Fertilize

Scott's 3 step process works wonders on a dull lawn. Use turf builder to get the soil strong and healthy.

Lawn Mower

Tune up your lawn mower by changing the oil and spark plug. Add fresh gas and tighten the wheel bolts.

Weeds

Pull weeds in your garden and around decks and spray weeds sprouting through concrete cracks with weed killer.

Clean gutters

Check and clean all gutters and make sure the downspouts are free and clear of debris.

Bushes

Trim bushes and cut any dead branches away from your siding.

Mulch

Choose your favorite mulch and place in and around your flower beds.

Patio/Deck

Spray down your deck with mild detergent solution and wipe your patio furniture down.

Siding

Use a power washer or garden hose to wash the siding with mild detergent such as laundry detergent. Start at the bottom to prevent dirt staining that is very hard to get clean.

Windows

Spray and wipe down windows and window sills.

Paint

Touch up any areas where necessary or where paint might have chipped. Fresh new paint can brighten things up.

Trees

Trim branches and remove possible safety hazards that you could walk into or could damage roofing.

Attic

Check for any problems with moisture or birds nests. Make sure ventilation is good.

Seal gaps

If you don't want bees nests and ants then make sure all gaps are sealed in your foundation, soffit and fascia.

Grill

Clean your burners and cook top on your grill. Hose off your grill cover with mild soap and don't forget to have a full propane tank ready for your next barbecue.
