The first forth of July celebration took place in the year 1777. By the early 1800's parades were widespread to celebrate what had become known as America's birthday. Fireworks was also a widespread practice to symbolize the war that the early Americans suffered through to win their freedom from the British kingdom. Food plays a big part in the celebration of the forth of July as well and I will present three dip appetizers that will delight your guests and keep them happy until the main courses are ready to be devoured. Chips and dip are a popular party food and will go well with any forth of July celebration. They are quick and easy to make and the recipes also scale to larger amounts very easily. These three quick and easy forth of July dip recipes will save you time and headache during your forth of July celebration.

Quick and Easy Forth of July Spinach Dip Recipe

Ingredients:

12 ounce package of frozen spinach..

12 ounce container of sour cream.

2 tablespoons of mayonnaise.

3 strips of bacon.

1/8th tablespoon of garlic powder, white pepper.

2 tablespoons of minced onion

Directions:

Steam the spinach until it is completely thawed. Cook your bacon until it is crisp and sit on paper towels to drain. Crumble your bacon once it has cooled and place in a mixing bowl along with the spinach, sour cream, mayo, and spices. Mix thoroughly and chill for 2 hours before serving.

Spinach dip is best served with crackers, chips or veggie strips. If serving outside remember to place the serving bowl in a larger container full of ice to keep your dip cool throughout the party.

Quick and Easy Forth of July Smoked Salmon Dip Recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 pound of smoked salmon.

1 pound of cream cheese.

2 tablespoons of mayonnaise

1 teaspoon of garlic powder, parsley, paprika.

1 tablespoon of minced onion

1 tablespoon of lemon juice.

Directions:

Flake your smoked salmon and put in a blender. Add the cream cheese, mayonnaise, spices, and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly, scoop out and place in the serving bowl. Chill for at least 4 hours before serving.

Smoked salmon dip is best served with crackers or thick chips while chilled. If serving outside remember to place the serving bowl in a larger container full of ice to keep your dip cool throughout the party.

Quick and Easy Forth of July Dill Dip Recipe

Ingredients:

4 ounces of fresh dill leaves chopped finely. Or you can use 2 ounces of dried dill if fresh is not available.

12 ounce package of cream cheese.

1 cup of mayonnaise.

1 tablespoon of prepared horseradish

1 cup of sour cream.

1/2 tablespoon garlic powder, parsley, cayenne pepper.

4 ounces of minced onion.

Directions:

Put your dill leaves in a blender. Add the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, spices, horseradish, and minced onion. Mix thoroughly, scoop out and place in the serving bowl. Chill for at least 4 hours before serving.
