How to Make Mint Meringue Kisses: This is an easy recipe to make mint meringue kisses. Mint meringue kisses are really just little blobs of flavored meringue that you drop on a cookie sheet. These easy to make kisses are a wonderful candy treat to make for any dinner party or to give as gifts. These little mint meringue kisses are also a good sweet treat for someone counting calories. The whole batch of mint meringue kisses only contains 567 calories and you can make about 100 kisses using this recipe. That's less than 6 calories per kiss!

Ingredient list to make mint meringue kisses:
2/3 cup sugar
3 large egg whites
2 teaspoons minced fresh mint (or 1 teaspoon mint extract)
1/4 teaspoon salt
green food coloring (optional)

Step 1: Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Step 2: Beat salt and egg whites with a mixer at high speed until foamy.

Step 3: Gradually add sugar to the egg white mix and continue beating until stiff peaks form.

Step 4: Add the mint and a couple drops of green food coloring and beat until blended.

Step 5: Spoon the mixture into a cake decorating piping bag with a decorative star tip. You can also use any large plastic bag and just cut off the very tip of one of the corners to make a piping bag (it just won't have the decorative star shape).

Step 6: Squeeze the meringue mixture onto a baking sheet that is lined with parchment paper or wax paper. Make little mounds that are about 1 inch across. You should be able to make about 100 kisses.

Step 7: Bake at 300 degrees for about 25 minutes or until dry.

Step 8: Slide the wax paper from the pan and let the kisses cool.

Step 9: Remove the kisses from the wax paper and store in any airtight container or zip lock bag.
