Sugar freeHalloween Pumpkin Jell-o Jigglers
You can make these Halloween treats safe and fun for diabetic children with some sugar free Jell-O and some spooky cookie cutters.
Ingredients:
4 packs of Sugar Free Jell-0 (Sugar free Orange)
2.5 cups of boiling water
Bat Cookie Cutters
One large baking sheet with rims
Directions:
Open all four Jell-O packages and dump them into a large bowl. Pour the boiling water into the bowl and stir until all the powder has dissolved. Pour the Jell-O mix into a large baking pan with rims. Allow to cool until the Jell-O is firm. Then dip the bottom of the pan into some cool water to loosen the Jell-O. Then take your Halloween pumpkin shape cookie cutter and cutout shapes of pumpkins. Enjoy!
Sugar Free Trick or Treat Chocolate Ghosts Lollipops
By using Merckens Sugar Free White Chocolates Candy Melts you can create eerie ghostly lollipops that are safe for diabetic children.
Ingredients:
Merckens Sugar Free White Chocolate Candy Melts (the amount depends on the number of lollipops you want to make)
Wilton Halloween Candy Mold 2 Pack Set
8 inch lollipop sticks
Directions:
Pour your candy melts into a microwave safe bowl and heat in the microwave for short bursts. Be careful you do not burn the chocolate. Once the chocolate is melted pour into ghost molds and insert lollipop sticks. After a few hours, the chocolate will have hardened and you can just pop the lollipops out. Put each lollipop into a treat bag and you have a sugar free Halloween treat.
Halloween Sugar Free Candy Apple Pumpkins
These candy apple dressed up as pumpkins make a great sugar free Halloween treat that will awe your trick or treaters.
Ingredients:
Merckens Sugar Free White Chocolate Candy Melts(again depends on the size of the apples and how many apples you want to make).
Popsicle sticks (to make them look like pumpkin stems paint the parts that do not go into the apple green or brown
Wilton candy colors in orange
Medium or small size apples
Sugar free candy corns for facial features
Directions:
Insert popsicle sticks into the apples. Then put the apples in the fridge while you melt the chocolate in the microwave or a double boiler. If you are melting your chocolate in the microwave, heat in short bursts so the chocolate doesn't burn. Once your chocolate is melted add a few drops of Wilton's orange candy color until you are satisfied with the color.
Once you are satisfied with the color, dip the apples in the chocolate. Once the apples are covered in chocolate use the sugar free candy corns to create facial features such as the mouth, nose and smile.
These easy sugar free Halloween treats are sure to please any child and will allow your diabetic child to take part in a major Halloween tradition.
