Easy Safe Travel to Cuba

Cuba, communism, Fidel Castro all three of these words will send chills up the spins of middle aged Americans. Over and over again I have heard people talking about how Americans can't go to Cuba. They will keep you over there my father warned before I headed off on my first trip. This is completly untrue. And I have returned to the island four times.

I found the people were very nice, the hotels beautiful and the spanish culture electrifiing not to mention the some of most beautiful beaches in the world and the 57 Chevorlets on every corner. To see a government is truly an eye opener for any American. I never had any problems, even though I visited a hospital and a police station after being involved in a rough car wreck.

Enough of that, I did not write this to tell you about Cuba. You can travel guides and information on the net. I am writign this to explain to you how to enter Cuba since there are no direct flights from the USA to Cuba. First you will need a valid U.S. passport, a drivers license and your original birth certificate (not a copy).

Your next step will be to fly to a third county such as Cancun, Mexico or Nassua Bahamas. When you arrive as an American citizen present your birth certificate and drivers license to the immigration inspector. Do not show him your passport.

You will fly to Cuba from the third country and the Cubans may or may not stamp your passport. When you return from Cuba to the third country again enter the thrid county (Mexico or Bahamas) with your birth certificate and drivers license. When you fly back to the good ole USA show your Customs inpector your birth cerfcfiate and drivers license, do NOT show him your passport. And let him know how good of a time your had the third country--NOT CUBA!.

Last but not least Cubans welcome Americans and it is not illegal to travel to Cuba. However, because of the embargo the United States has placed on Cuba it is a crime to spend money in Cuba. So don't fly Cubana airways into to Cuba any Canadian travel agency will make hosting and travel arrangments for you. Be sure to take cash because Fidel does not take checks, or credit Cards.
