The ingredients for this recipe are:
• 2 cups of flour
• 4 teaspoons of baking powder
• ¾ teaspoons of salt
• 1/3 cups of sugar
• 4 tablespoons of butter
• 2 tablespoons of shortening
• ¾ cups of cream
• 1 egg
• Dried currants or dried cranberries (optional)
Here are the steps to make this:
1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
2. In a large mixing bowl, sift flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar
3. Add the butter and shortening making sure to continue to mix well.
4. In another bowl, beat the egg and add cream.
5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients.
6. Now would be the time to stir in the fruit.
7. Turn the dough out on a well floured surface.
8. Roll the dough and cut the dough into small round biscuits.
9. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
