Principals to live by
Beauty stems from the inside out. If you're not healthy your hair skin and nails are going to suffer. In fact the look of your hair skin and nails in an indication of how healthy you are. Your body needs good nutrition to thrive and your beauty will shine through. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of pure water each day. Don't drink tap water! Eat a diet rich in organic whole foods such as fruits and vegetables daily. In addition take a whole food multi-vitamin and mineral supplement daily to be sure that you're getting all your vitamins. Pre-natal vitamins are packed with extra vitamin A, and E which are great for your skin. Be sure to also get at least 8 hours of restful sleep each night.
In addition to following a healthy lifestyle you can also do some simple things at home to stay beautiful and refreshed.
Bath Soaks
Use a chlorine filter on your bath tub to get the most benefit from bath soaks. Chlorine accelerates the ageing process and has many other health hazards. I've written other articles on this subject alone.
When your in the tub you can do several beauty treatments all at once especially for your skin. Add herbs to the water such as thyme, and cheesecloth for soft skin. If you have problems with eczema or just itching it is also helpful to add colloidal oatmeal to the water. A great product I love to pour in the bath as well is Burt's Bees Naturally Nourishing Milk and Shea Butter body wash.
While you're soaking in the tub apply cucumber slices to your eyes and just relax allowing all the skin benefiting ingredients to penetrate into your skin. Cucumbers are great for under eye circles and puffy eyes. They contain natural antiseptic properties, and they are very soothing when applied to the skin.
Masks
Wear a skin benefiting mask that draws out impurities at least once each week. This is also something you can do while soaking in the tub.
Lotions
Choose lotions which have natural ingredients meant to beautify your skin. Some of the best lotions contain shea butter, milk, honey, vitamins, coconut, olive oil, and other natural ingredients. Some of the best brands are Burt's Bees, Alba and Jason's products.
Steer clear of lotions or other beauty products that contain alcohol, parabens or other drying ingredients. Stick with the more natural brands.
