Jell-O can be used to help a tomato crop. Mix Jell-O packets in one cup of boiling water, and stir until the packet dissolves. Then mix with 3 cups of cold water. You can then pour the mixture on your plants. This mixture helps the tomato to retain water, gives it nitrogen which will improve growth and make sprouting faster, and the sugar feeds good soil microbes that release more nutrients to the tomato.
If you don't have Jell-O or want another great simple secret method to improve your tomatoes you can use Nestea or any other unsweetened iced tea. You will want to make the tea according to the directions but do not add sugar or ice. You then use this as a fertilizer on the plants. you can even make this even more simple by just adding the powder onto the plants without actually going to the trouble of preparing it. The nutrients from the tea will slowly go into the tomatoes as the tea decomposes.
