Easy Spring Crafts for Children: Hand Print Lamb

Lisa Stevens
If you are looking for a very easy craft to make with your child for the upcoming Easter holiday or Spring season try this fun and cute hand print lamb you can hang anywhere in your house or child's room. This craft is easy for children or toddlers to make and a lot of fun for both parents and children when tracing and cutting out the hand prints.

What you'll need:

Brown, White or Black Construction Paper (You can also use brightly colored construction paper if you want a colorful lamb)
Washable black marker, pen or pencil
Cotton Balls (depending on the size of the hand a dozen should cover the lamb)
Your Child's Hand
White Glue (Elmer's Glue works great for this)

How to make it:

The first thing you or your child will need to do is trace your child's hand print. Place their hand on the construction and use the marker, pen or pencil to trace their hand and fingers onto the paper. Make sure the children spread their fingers and thumb out.Next, you will need to cut out the handprint. For older children you can use this as a great way to build up their cutting skills. For younger children an adult can help them to cut out their handprint.

After you cut the hand out flip the hand over so the fingers are facing down. The fingers will be the legs of the lamb and the thumb is the head.

Next you will need to prepare the hand for the cotton balls. Cover the palm of the hand, and the top part of the legs, with white glue. You will not be covering the entire finger, unless you want the whole leg to be fluffy.

Prepare the cotton by pulling the cotton balls so they become like soft wool or a fluffy cloud. Place the cotton onto the white glue so it covers the lamb's body. Make sure to leave the legs and head uncovered, unless you plan to cover the whole leg. If you don't plan to cover the entire leg with cotton draw little feet onto the bottom of the fingers with the black marker, pen or pencil.

For the last step draw a face onto the head of the lamb with the black marker.
