1. Declare a National Tree Day. If global warming is really the urgent problem that some pundits believe, then have the President - and every head of state in the world - declare a national tree day where every person is required to plant 10 trees. The President certainly has the power to do this. Anything more is a step toward slavery, which is obviously prohibited. 70 billion trees in a day, or 700 billion trees in 10 years changes the much feared and loathed carbon equation.
2. Get another Equation. There is much talk of the carbon equation, the energy equation, etc. Those equations change when the planet is cooled from the vacuum of space. Ice is abundant among solar system bodies, and there is about 15 billion light years of space where the temperature is about absolute zero. There are a variety of ways to cool the planet from space. Sunlight can be blocked with a field of reflectors positioned in space between the sun and the North Pole. Power plants can be built in space.
3. Get a philosophy. Americans spend over 1.4 trillion dollars per year on three social programs: Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. That's not all of welfare spending. By contrast, the space agency NASA receives about 18 billion dollars per year. If global warming is such an urgent problem, transfer some money from social programs and defense to the space agency so that the planet can be cooled from space. Further, Earth is not the largest source of water in the solar system. Jupiter's moon Europa has more water.
4. Ask the question, are we about control or are we about green? Are we about destroying American business for social control, or are we about making Earth a greener place? China, a communist country, burns more coal than any other country.
5. Kill television - it emits heat and consistently turns men into apes.
6. Recognize that your value system may not work for other people, and that other people may have value systems that can be used effectively in the green effort. Edison had a working electric vehicle (EV) in 1914. He didn't follow Marx, and many are convinced that but for Marx Americans could be driving EV's. Using EV's reduces carbon emissions in a major way. Conversely, there are many socialists who live in American cities and never drive.
7. Fight the qwerty phenomenon - or bureaucratic inertia, the tendency to resist change. The qwerty design is still used on computer keyboards because that was the best design for the manual typewriter even though there are better ways to input information into a computer.
8. Fight space phobia. Some people fear routine efforts in space irrationally. The International Space Station has been occupied continuously for over eight years.
9. Hope that humanity can avoid a nuclear war.
10. Ride bikes, walk and telecommute to the extent possible.
Those are 10 ways of addressing global warming, presuming that it is a problem.
