Tips for cutting calories are the most sought after tips in the world for dieting. I've had two kids, so I know what its like to be desperate to lose weight to fit back into my cute clothes again. These are the best tips that worked for me, and I have literally no will power or desire to exercise.
1. Use a smaller plate! If you use a smaller plate while you cut back on serving sizes you won't notice it as much because your plate will still look full.
2. Cut down to one can of soda a day. If you drink two to three now, you'll lose 15 pounds in a year.
3. If you drink whole or 2% milk, cut down to 1%. You will lose 5 pounds in a year just from doing that.
4. When dining out or even at home, start with the greens first, and leave the meat and potatoes for last. The greens are just as filling, but have fewer calories. You can always take your leftover home.
5. When dining out ask for a doggie bag at the beginning of the meal and bag half of your meal. Restaurant food normally totals up to 3,000 calories a plate, bagging it or even splitting it will do you a huge favor.
6. Limit the amount of juice you take in during the day. Juice has the same amounts of calories and sugars as soda does, if not more. Limiting this as you would soda will help you achieve the same weight loss goals.
7. If that one soda you drink a day is the regular 20 oz bottle size, switch to diet and you can lose 25 pounds in a year.
8. Sit at the table when you eat. Sitting in front of the television takes your attention away from how much you really eat. On average people eat an extra 1,000 calories per day when eating in front of the television.
