When I went to Disney World last Christmas it was magical, everything was exactly as I pictured it. My parents took their five daughters and two son-in-laws for the vacation of a lifetime. But in today's economy it can be hard, so here are some money saving tips to help you plan one magical spring break.
Driving: Gas is cheaper then it was last spring break, so take advantage of that. If you do decide to drive you can use the handy dandy website Gas Buddy and find the cheapest gas in your area.
Flying: Now this is common sense but it's still something to remember; try booking flights on a Thursday or Monday flights can be up to $200 cheaper during the week of spring break.
Park Tickets: Try not to buy the first tickets you see look around at websites like Greator Land Discounts or Orlando Fun Tickets. Just remember that they are probably more expensive at the park.
Lodging: We had a huge family so we rented a condo which was very convenient (see the next tip) it had a pool, a few beds, a TV. But that might be a little to big for some, I would try to find a hotel close to the park so you don't have to get up seriously early to drive. Try a website like Hotels.com to find the cheapest one.
Food: Meals are super expensive at the park and so I would recommend bringing food and cooking it at your hotel as much as possible. Also try and bring bottled water and stick it in your purse. Water bottles are two dollars at the park.
Attire: Now you might not need clothes for vacation, but if you are like me you want to try to get a few new outfits. I know stores like American Eagle and Victoria Secret Pink still have summer clothes in their sales.
Non-money tip: The best tip that I can give you for the park is to use the fast pass. It gives you a ticket that lets you on a waiting list so you can ride other rides and come back at the designated time.
Vacation Packages: These are great, just don't get the one straight from Disney, you do save a lot of money if you go through a website and book the flight, hotel, tickets, and everything together. Ours even threw in a free days pass to Universal Studies
