Planning a wedding can be difficult and having the wedding of your dreams can prove to be even more difficult. Most women dream of their wedding their entire life and have a distinct vision of what it will be. Unfortunately not everyone has a bottomless bank account to draw from when paying for all their wedding expenses. However, there are simple corners you can cut and choices you can make that will enable you to have the wedding of your dreams.

Venue
The largest expense for most weddings is the location. The reception is the bulk of the wedding and it is the part that most of your guest will remember. Most caterers that specialize in weddings are costly and for many not affordable. There are many locations that you can hold your wedding where you won't break your bank. Try a public park, most have nice scenery and can be used for a small fee or donation. Make certain that you choose a park that has either covered pavilions or will allow you to put up tents. You want to make certain you have this alternative for rain or extreme heat. Often people hold their reception at a local restaurant. Many restaurants have private rooms that can be rented or will allow you to rent the entire restaurant for less than you would pay for a specialized caterer. Look for places with nice outdoor areas for photographs and the also a place that has room for dancing. There are other places that you can look into when looking for an inexpensive wedding venue. Look at churches or places of worship that have a meeting hall or colleges that have attractive grounds. Thinking outside the box may help you land an ideal unique location that will be picture perfect.

Attire
Every woman has the image of herself walking down the isle looking perfect in her wedding dress. However, wedding dresses can hold a hefty price tag. Finding the perfect dress for you is essential to your overall satisfaction with your wedding day. Before you go out and look at expensive boutiques and bridal shops consider some cost saving alternatives. Look at annual sample sales if you want to find a designer dress for less. Shop online sites like Ebay and other discount bridal sites for really great deals. Additionally, Isaac Mizrahi has designed a line of wedding apparel for Target online that is absolutely gorgeous. All the gowns are below the two hundred dollar mark and can be shipped for relatively inexpensive.

Invites
Consider printing your own invitations rather than spending money on having them professionally printed. If your not great with the computer or you simply don't have the time to print your own invites, there are still ways that you can save. Don't use reply cards, have guest call or reply online. This will save you the cost of purchasing that portion of the invitation and the postage you would purchase for you guest to return it to you. Additionally, consider a standard printed invite without any frills. Engraving and other add-ons are unnecessary expenses and go unnoticed by most guest who receive them anyway.

Food
Work with your caterer to determine what entrees are the most cost effective. If applicable provide your own liquor, so you can shop around for the best prices. find out which style of reception is less costly, buffet or sit down. At the end of the day most guest are not bothered by the buffet line especially because they can choose exactly how much of what they get on their plate.

There are many other ways that couples can save when planning there wedding. Knowing where and when to cut corners will help you have the wedding day that you have always dreamed of. The bottom line to saving money is think outside the box, research and don't be afraid to ask about alternatives. Planning a wedding is an expensive and stressful task and the more you can save the easy it will be.
