Easy Ways for Teenagers to Earn Money Over Summer

Sydney
Are you a teenager that wants to make spending money? Well, great news for you because there are ways that you can make money without having to hold a job, which would require transportation and actually getting hired. Primarily though, managers choose not to hire minors because of the responsibilities that come with it and also due to the fact that they don't have enough experience out in the work force. I think it's ridiculous how managers don't hire minors for the lack of experience because you have to get hired to get experience. You have to start somewhere, don't you? Well, until then, you can follow my tips on how to make extra spending money.

If it's summer time and you live in an area with warm weather, then you can offer lawn services to your neighborhood. You can do things such as mow lawns, weed gardens, plant, or even clean out sheds and garages to make money! To start off, you should make flyers to advertise your services. You can place such flyers under doors or on cars. You might also consider knocking door to door to actually meet your neighbors and customers and offer your services. Besides, meeting the actual person performing the services reassures your customers that you're honest about working for them. You can charge by the hour or the task being completed.

If you're an animal lover, then offering to walk dogs would be a great idea. Or if your neighbors are planning to go on vacation, offer to take care of their pet(s) for them while they're gone! It'll be tons of fun and it'll be an excellent way for you to learn some responsibilities.

Do you have old DVDs, CDs, or books that you no longer find value in anymore? Anything that you can find gathering dust in your room or garage is perfect. What exactly can you do with these useless items? Sell them, of course! Remember that saying that goes, "One man's trash is another man's treasure"? This is the perfect example that illustrates that quote to be true. You can sell such items on Ebay or Amazon. However, if you don't want to have to deal with packaging and mailing the item off to the customer, then you can simply hold a yard sale. It's a great way to get rid of those things that are only taking up space in your house, all the while, make money out of it! Another way to make money related to selling things is by making gift baskets, knitting scarves, and even jewelry! It's inexpensive, fun, and will reveal the creative side of you!

Do you adore little kids? If you do, you can offer babysitting services to your neighbors, relatives, or family friends! You'll have so much fun with them and it's an easy job... that is, if you love kids. You can sit down and watch tv with them or pop in a movie and make them jelly sandwiches (since they might be allergic to peanut butter) and they'll be satisfied. Or you can play board games with them. All you have to do is keep them company and you'll be pocketing money! If you're a band or orchestra member or you play the piano, you can offer to teach children how to play an instrument! You can make about $10 an hour for this because of the fact that professional tutors charge $20 to $30 an hour. Parents will surely prefer your lower rates!

Be creative! There are a billion ways that you can make extra money. All you have to do is think outside of the box. Making money at a young age is definitely beneficial because it will prepare you for future jobs and careers.

If you were considering taking a job as a babysitter, and wanted to get paid... how would you go about asking about how much you should get paid or how much should you ask for?
