Your wedding is supposed to be the most magical day of your life, however, the cost of taking care of all the little details can really add up and before you know it you can find yourself pushing the limits of your budget and no where close to being done buying everything you need.

The good news is that if you are willing to put in a little bit of time and effort you can make some beautiful decorations for your wedding and save yourself a ton of money in the process. Not only that, but your wedding decorations will be unique adding to the charm and magic of your special day.

Here are some easy wedding craft ideas that can save you money while at the same time helping you create the perfect event.

Make Your Own Veil

Wedding veils are outrageously expensive - especially when you consider how little fabric and materials actually go into them. One of the easiest and most cost effective wedding crafts you can do is to make your own veil. If it sounds intimidating, don't worry - it's actually not too difficult.

All you need is a length of sheer fabric, a sturdy hair comb and flowers, feathers, beads or other decorations to cover the area where the fabric attaches to the comb. If you prefer you can also buy a simple hat and use that to cover the hair comb. Simply take long, loose running stitches the entire way across one end of the fabric.

Don't tie a knot in either end of the thread at this point. Slide the fabric toward the center of the thread from both ends, gathering it together. When you get it all gathered, tie the two ends of the thread securely to hold the gathers in place. Then, use thread to stitch it onto the hair comb. Finally, use a glue gun or thread to attach your decorations to the hair comb, trying the veil on often to make sure that it looks good on your head. That's it! Easy enough, right?

Make Your Own Bouquets

The next craft idea is to make your own bouquets. Buy inexpensive flowers or even pick wildflowers and then arrange them into beautiful bouquets. Remove any leaves that are low down on the stem so that you have a place to comfortably hold them. When you have the flowers arranged the way you want, tie them securely together with a piece of string or wrap a couple of rubber bands around them to hold them in place.

Finally take a long piece of wide ribbon in your wedding colors and wrap it around the stems, using pearl hat pins to hold it in place. Cover the stems completely for an elegant look. If you want you can also tie a bow around the stems to add to the bouquet, although it is not necessary.

Bows for the Ends of The Pews or Rows

Making bows is really simple and can be much less expensive than buying bows that are already made. There are many different ways to tie bows and you can find a lot of free tutorials online that show you step-by-step how to do each one. Find a bow you like, shop for some beautiful ribbon in your wedding colors and then learn how to tie it perfectly. Spend an evening making bows while you watch a good movie and before you know it you'll have them all done for a fraction of the cost you would have paid to buy them pre-made.

Hopefully these tips give you some ideas for crafts you can do to save money on your wedding. Good luck and have a beautiful wedding day.
