Easy Window Coverings

Most people have the tendency to think installing window coverings is a complicated process that should be left to professionals who usually charge way too much for installation. However, many window treatment products are incredibly easy to install, even for beginners who have never attempted the task before. These are easy window coverings that are gaining a lot of popularity with DIY home owners looking to remodel their homes on the cheap. Why pay your local hardware store or handyman for what you can easily learn to do yourself for free? Save some money and learn how to do something new at the same time.

Some of the simple to install window treatments include cellular blinds, faux wood blinds, roller shades, vertical blinds, solar screens, and others. These three products are great for beginners and can be installed in a snap. You may not even need an assistant (although having another person handy is always helpful.) The first window is always going to be the most difficult while you are still getting the hang of the process, but after you master the first one, the remaining windows will be quick and easy installations. The rest of the house will be complete in no time.

The installation of cellular blinds (also called honeycomb blinds or pleated blinds) is very simple. Follow the blind manufacturer's installation instructions and have the needed tools at hand for a smooth, painless install that will take less than half an hour for each window.

Another popular, easy to install choice is roller shades. Bring simple style into your home with roll up shades that can be installed using simple brackets, clips, and screws '" all of which are provided inside the box. The manufacturer will have complete instructions for installing your new roller shades properly in 30 minutes or less per window.

Solar screens, as with the other two mentioned window coverings, are simple to install if you are following the enclosed instructions provided by your blind manufacturer. If you have 30 minutes to spare for each window and a bit of patience, you can do it.

With these types of window treatments, self installation is definitely the way to go as it saves a lot of money and really isn't that much hassle if you read through the instructions one time before diving in. Plus, you can have the good feeling of having accomplished something yourself. Try it yourself before resorting to hiring someone to install your window blinds.
