If you are like the majority of people, you know that you should be getting regular exercise, but you say you don't have the time, or you just don't want to workout at. While those aren't good excuses, and there are many resources out there to address them, and what you can do to help, we will focus more on helping you incorporate fitness into everyday life, more than you would think possible!
Mall Walking
This is a new trend that is picking up a lot of followers especially with stay at home moms and mall frequenters. If you find yourself at the mall odds are that you like to shop, so why not shop and burn calories. Show up at the mall before all of the stores open and start window shopping; if you were to walk at just above a leisurely pace, you could find yourself burning 300 or more calories per hour, that's like burning off a baked potato, but the real fun is yet to come! In around one hour when the stores open, you have already window shopped and you know exactly where you want to go, plus you can even bring a friend to mall walk with you, and walking together will encourage accountability.
Commercial Calorie Burn
Let's be honest you probably spend more time than you would like to admit to sitting in front of the television, why not turn your idiot box into a calorie burning monster! The average television show has about 7 minutes of commercial per half hour of broadcast, try getting up and doing something during the commercials. If you ran in place, did jumping jacks, and then did a few pushups, you could save up the calories burned and have a little treat later in the day! Television may not be the best thing for you but it can be one of you most powerful workout tools if you utilize it correctly.
Scavenger Burn
If you find that you frequently use an item in your house, such as a laptop, but you keep it where you always use it, move it to a different spot a little further away! If you find that you have to walk to get something every time you need it those few extra calories add up every time. Rather than putting your car keys up on the door, put them in the back room, that's three trips to the keys between drives and a few extra calories burned!
Nothing can beat good old fashioned working out, but if you use some of these tips you may find that you have a few extra calories just dying to be burned off!
