Pick up your jaw and read on. So many of us are interested in losing weight that we will do anything to shed the pounds fast. We go on binge diets and commit to mail order foods as if there were no other ways to become a healthier and thinner individual. So can eating chocolate in the bathtub really help you get the results you want?
In a word, YES! Emotional stress plays a large role in our health. Studies have shown that emotional eating, which results in weight gain and unhealthy habits, is on the rise. Selfgrowth.com features an article that advises us to "slow down and relax", pointing out that stress can cause emotional eating and unhealthy eating binges. Webmd.com states that "experts estimate that 75% of overeating is caused by emotions".
These studies tell you and me what we already know. Stress causes us to eat larger amounts of unhealthy foods. But how do we control the eating habits? How do we decrease the stress we feel? One way that we can do this is to set aside a time, once a week, to do something that decreases stress and allows us to indulge in something you consider to be luxurious.
Some people may prefer going to the movies, some may like reading a book. My decision is to eat chocolate in a hot and bubbly bathtub. I do have a theory that if you are floating you cannot gain weight. However, this has yet to come to fruition. Although when I know that this is something that I have to look forward to, it helps to decrease the stress I am under. Using this method, I have noticed that I binge eat less and handle obstacles with a little more ease and efficiency than I had in the past.
So, go on and eat some chocolate in the bathtub. It may not seem like the best diet to follow for weight loss, but it is a great diet to cut down on stress. When we have less stress, we eat less, when we eat less, we weigh less. ENJOY!
