WHAT? Yes, I said it Whipped Cream, yeah you know that stuff that comes from a can that we all love squirting right into our mouth when no one is looking? Come on, don't say you never tried that...at least once? Okay, yup that stuff! I have heard countless people say things like "well I made small cut backs that paid off in a big way...I no longer put whipped cream on my latte... Okay, first off, drinking the latte itself can be the problem, some have almost 2,000 calories alone depending on the size. And that whipped cream...it's only 15 calories per serving! Now, I know your not eating all those good foods that whipped cream taste so good on top of, but you can put some over your fruit, like strawberries, or on top of a healthy smoothie and be guilt free for a delicious indulgence!
Delicious Food #2) Eggs
Eggs have really gotten such a bad name over the past decade or so, luckily the egg is coming back full swing! Many studies are now showing that eating eggs can bolster success of weight loss success. It's packed with nutrients and protein. Eating eggs can make you feel fuller for longer, curbing your appreciate for later in the day. Not to mention, each Large size egg has only 70 calories! Now cooking it healthy is also half the battle, use cooking spray and a small bit of butter when frying, instead of all butter if you are calorie counting. Putting veggies in an omelets is a great way to get even more out of your eggs, but try not to load it with cheese or sausage to keep it light.
Delicious Food # 3) Salad Dressing
Who here is on a diet and eats tons of salad? Okay, if you settled for some yucky tasting "light" probably sweetened with Splenda version of "salad dressing" then let me let you in on something. You can enjoy your salad with your favorite dressing. The biggest problem with salad dressing is it is full of unhealthy fats, which make it also higher in calories. Commercial dressings also have sugar in them. The key here is moderation and disguise. If you know how to make your own salad dressing, go that way, it really is best. Swap out vegetable oil and canola oil for extra virgin olive oil in home made recipes and use NO MORE than two tablespoons on your salad. If you must buy dressing from a store, that's fine too, but use no more than one and a half tablespoons and mix the other half table spoon with extra virgin olive oil, which is very good for your health, skin and nails! Here's the trick, mix the dressing all over the salad before you plate it, so there are no dry spots. It really is such a treat to enjoy real food!
Eating healthy may be hard, and cutting back those calories certainly are not going to be easy, but if you enjoy what you eat you are more likely to lose weight and stick to it!
