Story : The story in a first person shooter is usually generic or non existent, but this one actually has a story and it's excellent. Matt Hazard actually realizes he's a video game character, and when a company threatens to replace him he has to take it on himself to put things right. Truly, the story is awesome but I don't want to spoil it for you. Highly recommended based on the story alone. The game has a really loose, silly atmosphere and some really hilarious moments, which doesn't happen too often in video games.
Graphics : Unfortunately, I can't say many good things about the graphics. I can't necessarily say anything bad either. They're nice, and appropriate. But I can't help but feel like they just fall flat compared to other modern games. There's a key element missing here. They took a lot of chances, emulating other types of games much like a parody. Just mediocre graphics overall, though the original elements here are commendable.
Sound : The music in this game just rules. Not much else can be said. The songs aren't ambient at all, they're very catchy and stick with you. The tones in them are very good and the arrangements are all above satisfactory. The voice acting is also excellent, and the actors really carry the humor very well. The sound effects are also all top notch. Basically, an excellent game sound wise.
Game play : The first person shooter genre is becoming stagnant very fast, what with all a new first person shooter game being released every week. That isn't entirely the case here, however. Eat Lead doesn't have many new things to offer, but it's perfected the old ones to the highest degree. Sort of. The difficulty in this game can be extremely high. A medium amount of repetition will allow you to progress through the game at a good pace, though. So don't worry too much about the difficulty. The power ups in the game are very cool, and some just a tiny bit innovative. The boss fights are usually intelligently done and they happen frequently enough to keep you engaged.
Re playability : There are extra things to do in this game, but I felt no need to do them even though I enjoyed this game very much. This may be different for you, but I have to say for me this game wasn't very re playable.
Overall : There's lots of first person shooters out there, but this one is really unique in it's mood and story, so I have to give a ton of bonus points there. I give this game 8/10.
