Eating habits are established from child hood when an individual copies the general habits customized in the home where he/or she is brought up. Parents greatly influence the kind of habits their children will acquire in major areas of life and one such area is the manner and method of food preparation and consumption. Eating habits does not include only the way and time one eats but also to the choice of foods that will appear on the table at the particular times in question. A good eating habit that will see you throughout your lifespan is worth enumerating.
A person's day should normally start at six in the morning. When you wake up, the day's activities will be successful when your mood is a happy one, without strain on muscles and feel of hunger. The best time to put your day's moods right is just at the wake up time. Doing the right thing then will greatly ease the rest of chores you will have to undertake in the course of the day. To put your mood for the day just right, a good start involve having a high spirit. This means that just after waking up, maybe fold your hands or kneel down and talk to God. Lay to him your plans for the day and let his mercies be your guiding rays for any other thing you will need.
Drink two glasses of warm water preferably at 40 degrees Celsius. The water you drink just at the time you wake up will help clear the toxin accumulated in the alimentary canal due to the digestive activities your system was engaged in during the night. The water will also replace the amount lost due to sweat as you were sleeping. Warm water is recommended because the body should not be engaged in spending energy heating water in your body but should be given more energy due to morning cold.
For about fifteen minutes, be preparing yourself for the day. Put things in their places and also be making your breakfast ready. Ensure that everything you will need for any duties and activities are availed and your day's program is well written and planned. Have yourself satisfied that you are in for a great day and it is time to give yourself the energy you will need to perform the said activities. This energy comes from breakfast.
Breakfast should contain a lot of energy giving foods such as cereals, fruits and vegetables. Some milk may be added in order to give you a rounded wholesome meal. But if you are a vegetarian, some soy milk or other plant protein previously prepared to palatability with what you have for breakfast is recommended. Breakfast should include a lot of fibrous foods because in the morning you need to eat to your fill. This will avoid temptations of buying snacks and other harmful foods due to hunger. The common tea and bread for breakfast should be avoided.
After eating a lot of the vegetables and variety of fruits in the morning (brown bread or rice, corn products, wheat products such as chapattis, avocado, guava, mango or orange juice), you then set for the day and do a lot of useful work. If your work is not physically involving such as construction work, then you should have done some exercise before taking your breakfast. Two hours after you had taken the breakfast, you should drink two other glasses of water and probably a banana-your time now is about nine in the morning. If you really consumed a heavy breakfast, you still don't have to worry about another meal as yet because the digestive system takes about four hours to completely digest the food you ate in the morning.
When it approaches around eleven, you might start filling some hunger but this you should ignore. Your stomach is empty because most of the food it contained has gone to the small intestines and are now being absorbed in the blood. At this time, you should let your body take optimum amounts of nutrients from your breakfast into your body organs. If you take some more food, you might be forced to expel the breakfast out of your body into the toilet before maximum utilization by the body. Two glasses of water can do again.
At around twelve and one in the afternoon, you should have known what you are going to eat for lunch. You should consider eating lunch in accordance with the breakfast you prepared. If you took wheat bread in the morning, then some other cereal like rice can do for lunch. A different kind of fruit and source of protein, limiting amount of meat and its products, should also accompany your source of energy. At this time you should not eat to stomach distention because this will impair your afternoon performance. The general rule is just to take a little food at lunch time.
The other time for your meal is supper. Though this can be avoided by those who have understood the full benefits of a real heavy breakfast, some kind of fruits and juices can be taken at night. Vegetable salads can really enrich your health at this time and some one to two bananas. Bananas are known to make the night sweet so you should really capitalize on them at this time. Supper time should come at least two hours before bed time. Eating your supper immediately you want to go to bed is not recommended because you should not allow your digestive system work when it should also rest. Thirty minutes after the supper time is time to drink your final glasses of water to make them eight. Drinking water at this time will enhance your sleep and keep toxins produced as a result of rest at low levels. When you go to bed, ensure that the day's problems are settled and you should rest having a peace of mind, not allowing your mind to be overworked as you sleep which, coupled with late night meals, lead to nightmares.
Following this simple guideline will give you a lot of flexibility in your daily activities and will influence a lot in your ability to live long. I wish you a long life and may you celebrate your hundredth birthday.
