Ebay Buyer Feedback: What's with the Wait?
Sometimes Sellers Make You Wait for What Seems like Forever
Some buyers feel that merchants who sell all the time think they need to protect their feedback score, and tell you that they'll wait for you to leave feedback first. Buyers can feel as though if they paid you for your item then they did their part, and that the seller should immediately leave the proper feedback. The way they handled their end of the transaction never changes after they have bought the goods. They paid fast into your Paypal account, why not go ahead and give them a positive? If the buyer realizes you sent them faulty or fraudulent goods and give the seller a negative, that doesn't change anything about how the customer paid.
Some sellers think differently. Sometimes when the seller gets a payment and leaves buyer feedback straight away, the buyer never leaves feedback of their own for the seller. Then there's the problem of if the buyer leaves you unwarranted negative feedback, and the seller has already left them positive; the seller can't change it. Some people even leave negative feedback for no apparent reason. Some merchants believe that feedback is indicative of the entire transaction experience, not just the initial payment process. Sellers also often feel that delaying feedback can discourage potential fraud by the buyer, and encourage communication between both parties should the buyer not be in receipt of their purchases.
There is a solution to this conflict. Ebay sellers can take advantage of signature or delivery confirmation. This also helps speed up dispute processes. These types of mail confirmation can prevent any type of Paypal problem where questionable buyers might try a fraudulent chargeback. There are many buyers out there that cheat sellers upon receipt of an claiming they didn't receive the bought goods. Sometimes these buyers will say the items were not signed by them. Signature or delivery mail confirmation is a great choice that leads to smooth Ebay transactions for both buyers and sellers.
