EBay: New and Old Sellers. Tricks of the Trade to Increase Your Profits
There Are Plenty of People Who Make Profits with a Few Tips of the Trade.
Also keep postage fees low and use their audience to increase your website exposure.
1. EBAY has " free listing days" at certain times of the year. Keep all of your listings waiting until you get an email stating a promotion. Then launch your auction. It is a great strategy for old items that don't sell that well.
Just keep listing on free days until a buyer comes along.
2. Beware of postage fees! Try to ship in light envelopes and make sure your boxes are not heavy.
There are certain items you may want to list as " pick up " only. If you are posting books use the special " media mail" postal rate. You may want to list your heavy items on a free site like craigslist first.
International mail has really become difficult to measure and if you do go that way, do your homework
on shipping rates before posting your items. High postage can discourage buyers.
3. Some sellers have multiple sites on line and they use EBAY to point people toward their own websites.
This might be true for real estate, antiques, cars and other higher end objects.
4. If something is not listed correctly, make sure you correct it early or end it before someone bids in the last few hours. Mistakes can be costly so post items with care.
5. Cruise garage sales for items and resell them. This is really the best way to sell. Buy cheap and sell higher.
6. Some people try and sell items from a warehouse but I think you should first experiment with items you know well. For instance, if you collect dolls, then specialize in dolls since you know how much they sell for and which dolls are most popular. I would suggest experimenting with various items until you find the thing which works best for you.
7. Try not to keep too much stock on hand. If you overbuy an item that is not popular than you get stuck with it.
When you are just starting out I would keep a moderate inventory and make sure you can get more with ease.
8. Some high quantity sellers will only deal with pay pal as the transactions go through easier.
So I hope these tips experienced EBAY sellers shared with me will help you too!
