eBay has a lesser known feature called maximum bid. Many people see this, but just ignore it. Here is an example of what maximum bid would do. Suppose you bid on an item with $5.20. A person has a Maximum bid of $12.94. This is kept secret from the other bidder. If the other bidder bids, he/she will automatically be out bid unless they bid above your limit. One possible problem would be if you want an item, and know it is auto bidding. If you put $12.95, the auto bidder would be outbid. 1 Penny can make a difference!
Speaking of pennies, it only takes on penny to make a difference on eBay! Suppose someone bids $13 on an item. That person could easily be out bid by someone who bid $13.01. Not much to it. I always bid 3 cents higher or lower that what I am willing to pay. This trick has always worked for me, and I have always won every item. If an item is at $12.99, and you see other people, say 2 are also bidding, What is they know the penny trick? Well this is considered the "penny-penny" trick. Assuming one person will bid $13.01 and the other $13.02 you should bid $13.06 just to be safe, in case other people get the same idea. On auctions, this has ALWAYS worked for me. Sniping anyone?
You heard me sniping? What is it? Sniping is when you try to place a bid at the last second, and you hope you get it in before another person. Sniping normally works but people submitting their bid at about 5 seconds. Well here is a little "darker" way to "snipe". If you see an item you like, open 2 windows of the same item. Type your bid in the left window, and submit it 30 seconds before it ends. Click refresh as soon as you do. If you do not, enter your bid on the right and click enter. Repeat. It helps if your bids are already entered. This is one way you can always win an auction.
Of course, the classic way of winning is by starting with the minimum, and lesser known objects. Look for lesser known auctions. These tend to get less attention. If someone bids 4 days before the item is over, chances are they will not monitor their bids. This has worked for me with popular items. I just bid from results from the last pages.
Well I hope you learned some nice "dark" tips. While this article may not be as long as my others, these are only LEGIT tips for eBay. Sure people can use illegal ways, but they are also caught and go to jail. Thanks for reading!
