(4WORD's answers in bold)

Tell us a little about yourself. What made you get into the music business? Who were your inspirations?
4WORD is : Jeffrey "J-Dub" Watson, Harold "Pete" Peters and John "J-Love" Lewis. We have been singing together as a group since July of 2007. But all three of us have been involved with music since we were in grade school! The vision for 4WORD is to preach and teach the word of God through music to the body of Christ and the world. You will find all of our lyrics somewhere in the Bible. We also, try to give an answer to an issue knowing that everything we have is through what we say! So singing a song full of God's word creates faith because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Commissioned, Fred Hammond, The Winans, Kirk Franklin, Phil Driscoll and Andre' Crouch are the main Gospel artists that have influenced 4WORD.

Describe your music to our readers. What do you bring different to the table? What kind of feedback have you had thus far? What have been some of your challenges? Our music is contemporary gospel with a traditional feel with some smooth jazz thrown in! I guess our main difference is our lyrics are taken straight from the Word and we do not bind ourselves to any particuliar musical genre. If it comes out r&b, it's r&b. If it's bluegrass, that's what is! Jazz, it's jazz, and so on. As you can imagine, a cd, containing different styles of music with Gods words in them, reception is going to be interesting to say the least. Some love it and say don't stop, others do not like it at all, and some say they one part or the other, the music and not the singing or vice versa. Our biggest challenge has been how to market ourselves. The cd, "We Are the Salt of the Earth", contains smooth jazz instrumentals, contemporary christian songs along with some contemporary gospel songs, which when you approach music outlet such as radio they tend to be compartmentalized, they either play one genre or another exclusively, thus making it difficult to know where to place us.

What upcoming projects to you have that readers should know about (if any)? We are currently working on a show for the House of Blues Gospel Brunch, production with a new female artist and playing gigs in clubs around southern California. We are, also, working on our second recording project.

What kind of support have you received? If you needed help with anything, what would it be? We have received lots of support from Sylvia St. James, Andre Carter from synergy1radio.com, christianmixinet.com, the Lords Place Church of Diamond Bar, Real Talent Showcase, friends and family. But where we really need help is with at the bars and nightclubs. We are singing Gods word in these places and not really getting the support we need to keep the promoter going. So if any of your readers are in the So Cal area come and support the word being ministered to the world where they are!!! If you can't get to L.A. then purchase a cd to help support the cause!

Where do you see yourself in the next five years? * We would like to share the message the Lord has given us with as much of the body of Christ and the world as possible. If that means city to city, church to church or park by park or club to club that is what we will do! But after the music J-Dub is called to pastor and teach in a church and J-Love is called to be an evangelist.

What is your favorite bible verse? book? etc..and why? Romans 8 because it lets us know that condemnation is not from God and that Jesus has redeemed us from the curse of the law. That we are more than conquerers through Christ which strenghthens us! That the Holy Spirit intercedes for us because we do not know what we should pray for as we ought! Praise God, there is a lot of spiritual meat in the eighth chapter of Romans that is why it is one of my favorites!
