I yelled out to the beautiful view,
"I love you!" only to hear my own echo.
I stood alone in silence then,
and thought about what I needed to do.
I need to love myself first
before I can truly be loving you.
I could sit back and cry about it
but that won't get me anywhere.
I need to look within my soul,
and view what's really there.
I stand and look across the canyon,
at the rocky edges below.
I need to experience certain things,
or I will never know.
Across the canyon to the rocky edges below,
I yelled out to the beautiful view,
"I love you!", only to hear my own echo.
