eCigarettes: Zero-Smoke Cigarettes Information

eCigarettes are a new, smokeless cigarette that have recently arrived on the marketplace in answer to all concerns about tobacco smoking. While acting and tasting like a normal cigarette, these electronic devices do not contain tobacco or emit smoke so that they are not taxed like tobacco or regulated by any anti-smoking laws.

Electronic cigarettes are a reusable device that comes in a variety of styles that resemble real cigarettes or pens. A rechargeable battery heats a water-based vapor mist that allows the user a feeling of smoke while inhaling. Flavors are available that imitate cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobaccos, coffees, fruits, and herbal mixes that all smokers enjoy.

Cartridges that hold about two-packages of cigarette puffs are placed into the eCigarettes for users to enjoy one at a time whenever a smoking break is desired. The electronic cigarette is turned on and off when a user sucks the end of eCigarettes so that there is no need for a switch.

eCigarettes Problems:

The big problem with this cheap smokeless cigarette alternative is that flavors can come in either healthy zero nicotine versions, or with various strengths of nicotine included. This choice has upset the government FDA system who are being asked to ban the healthy version of this electronic cigarette product along with the nicotine versions of this same product.

Unfortunately for the FDA, as it stands today, the FDA has no authority to regulate nicotine products. Electronic cigarettes are legal to buy and use inside of the United States at the time that this article was published.

FDA eCigarettes Regulations:

Lately, rumors concerning the FDA stopping this product from entering the USA have been in the news. Our FDA does not have authority to regulate nicotine in cigarettes or within nicotine delivery devices since a Supreme Court order on this matter in March 2000. With authority to regulate nicotine unavailable, the FDA is being creative.

Some, but not all shipments of electronic cigarettes are being stopped from entering the United States on a challenge that they are a new drug that has not been tested for safety. The shipments that make it into the country are being sold legally at various stores, truck stops, and through American online outlets to people aged 18-years and older.

eCigarettes Debate:

Electronic cigarettes are loved by some non-smokers who are gearing up to help smokers keep their new product. Many non-smokers would like to see the 20% of American's who smoke change habits to include this product that contains no smell, harmful second-hand smoke, smoking chemicals, or butt trash that litters the environment.

Electronic cigarettes are hated by some non-smokers who fear that the sight of them will lead children into tobacco smoking habits. Others counter this thought with beliefs that as long as unhealthy tobacco is not involved, and unhealthy nicotine left out of the picture, that there is no reason to fear this product.

Electronic cigarettes appear to be hated by the government since they could lead into a population of smoking people with a product that does not qualify for heavy taxes. This device also voids brand new anti-smoking codes, rules, and regulations imposed upon government buildings and public places within all areas of our 'against smoking' society.

This eCigarettes issue is interesting to me. Should the government ban a healthy product for imitating an unhealthy product? Should stop smoking nicotine products be banned along with eCigarettes? I suspect that the smoking products eCigarettes, electronic cigarettes, and smoking eCig's will be news for years to come.
