Eco Warriors' Decisions to Not Reproduce is Wise

Environmental Wackos Are Saving the Planet - from Stupidity

Toni Vernelli sure thinks she is smart. She long ago made the decision to not have children to reduce her so-called "carbon footprint." She has backed up her decision by having a previous abortion and then subsequently undergoing sterilization surgery.

I say congratulations, Toni. Way to go. You are saving the planet - from stupidity. Thank you for not procreating and creating an army of so-called "eco warriors." I, by the way, have four children, and don't give a rip what my family's carbon footprint might be. So you see, Toni, you're fighting a losing battle.

Vernelli told her story to the London Daily Mail for a Nov. 21, 2007, story. The story subsequently was linked to the online Drudge Report as that Web site's top story for a period on Nov. 22.

Vernelli, you see, long ago adopted her anti-child stance to help save the planet. The very thought of cradling her own child makes her "sudder with horror," the writers of the Mail story opined. At one point in her young adult life, Vernelli became pregnant. She sought and received an abortion "in the firm belief she was helping save the planet."

"Every person who is born uses more food, more water, more land, more fossil fuels, more trees and produces more rubbish, more pollution, more greenhouse gases, and adds to the problem of over-population," Vernelli told the newspaper.

As the article continues, it becomes clear what a deluded individual Vernelli really is, and how lucky we are as fellow humans that she has chosen not to procreate.

"I didn't like having a termination, but it would have been immoral to give birth to a child that I felt strongly would only be a burden to the world. I've never felt a twinge of guilt about what I did, and have honestly never wondered what might have been," Vernelli was quoted as saying.

Never a twinge of guilt? That is troubling from a woman who claimed in the newspaper to be the product of a Roman Catholic education. The story delves further into Vernelli's history, but yields some facts that are disturbing if they aren't fabricated by this environmental wacko of the ultimate degree.

Vernelli claims to have met her husband a week before realizing her "medical dream of sterilization" - at an animal rights rally.

That was the last straw for me. Here is a woman who didn't think twice about aborting an unborn baby who will stand up for the rights of animals and the environment. Once again, thank you Toni, for not procreating. Common sense, God-fearing earthlings applaud you.

Her husband, Ed, apparently is cut from the same cloth. On the morning of her sterlization surgery, Mr. Environmental Wacko gave his wife a card that reportedly said "Congratulations."

Vernelli apparently does have some sensibility about how normal people view her.

"And a woman like me, who is not having children in order to save the planet, is considered barking mad," she told the Mail. "What I consider mad are those women who ferry their children short distances in gas-guzzling cars." To each his own, I guess, but count me with the crowd that sees her as "barking mad."

The Mail story could not end without Vernelli appearing a bit hypocritical, that is hypocritical beyond her kill-the babies-but-save-the-animals stance. The Vernellis, you see, allow themselves of one carbon splurge per year. They go on a holiday and allow themselves a "long haul flight" annually.

The Mail reporters managed to find another couple that shared the Vernellis' views. But at least Sarah and Mark Hudson haven't had an abortion, at least not one that was reported in the newspaper.

"I realized then that a baby would pollute the planet - and that never having a child was the most environmentally friendly thing I could do," Sarah Hudson told the newspaper.

Mark Hudson apparently had a vasectomy, although the Hudsons have left open the option of adoption.

But once again, I implore them to stick by their no-child decision. By allowing your gentic line to die out, you will be saving us from generations more of like-minded people. Thank you.
