Business card gift tags are the perfect way to recycle old business cards while allowing you to beautifully tag your gifts.
You need only the basic supplies to do this project. Collect old business cards, craft glue, hole punch and string. You can pull out those old business cards that you've collected from colleagues, associates and other professionals. Also, if your own business cards are expired and needs updating, grab those too. Grab the other items from any craft store.
For each gift tag, you want to find two business cards that are identical in size. If you have cards that are graphically eye-pleasing on the back of it, use only one of them and another that is blank on one side.
Place two business cards down on a flat surface. Apply glue to the printed side of one of the business cards. Stick the cards together, with the printed side of each facing each other. Sit them to the side to dry. While they are drying, you can start to glue other business cards together-two at a time.
Once the cards are completely dry, bring one edge of the card over to the opposite edge to make a vertical fold. Make a crease in the fold using your fingernail. Punch a hole through one the top right corner of the folded card, close to the crease. Place the string through the hole and tie into a knot to secure.
If you don't want to use string, you can always just tape the gift tag to the top of the gift. Place two-sided tape to the bottom of the folded tag and stick it to the wrapping paper in a decorative manner.
There, that is all to it. If both sides of the gift tag is blank, you can add little drawings and decorations on the outside. Another option is to use green or red glitter and glue to give it a festive feel to the decorations. To make them more playful, allow a child to decorate the outside of the gift tag. To be personal, tape a small family Christmas picture to it. There are many different ways to decorate them, come up with something that is special to you.
Write the Christmas greeting and the receiver's name on the inside of the card. These eco-friendly gift tags are perfect when giving gifts at Christmas time or at other occasions throughout the year.
