Eco-friendly Clothing Company: Be Love

Eco-friendly Apparel from Be Love!

Britt Baker
According to their website "The mission of Be Love is to educate, inspire, and organize communities to create justice and peace through the practice of nonviolence." That's quite a bold statement for an eco-friendly clothing company, but Be Love clothing does quite a good job of living up to their mission statement. Each purchase of apparel from Be Love supports peace education directly, and Be Love clothing is both sweatshop free and fair trade. So, Be Love is certainly doing a great job of promoting a green lifestyle.

Be Love is an eco-friendly clothing brand that offers apparel for women, men, and children. Currently all of the green apparel offered by Be Love is in the form of shirts. For women, there are a number of varities of tank tops, short sleeved tees, and long sleeved tees. The shirts come in a variety of colors, with various prints. Some of the prints available include the "Peace Warrior" print with 2 feathers, the "Earth Angel" print with wings, the "My Life is My Message" print with an intricate design, the "Love and Truth Shall Prevail" print, the "Peace Begins with a Smile" print, and a "Be True" Mahatma Ghandi print.

Be Love's line of eco-friendly men's clothing includes short sleeved tee shirts, V-necks, and long sleeved tee shirts. Many of the prints available are similar to those in the women's collection of Be Love apparel. However, one design currently not available in the women's collection of eco-friendly apparel is the "Be the Change" design printed on organic shirts. This design features images of Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Ghandi who were both nonviolent activists.

The children's line of Be Love eco-friendly clothing currently features the "Be the Change" print with Martin Luther King Jr. and Mahatma Ghandi, as well as the "Be True" Mahatma Ghandi print. Both prints are available on short sleeved tees made from sweatshop-free 100% organic cotton and available in a variety of colors. Something to keep, though, in mind is that it is noted on the site that Be Love's clothing sizes for their women's, men's, and children's collections run small, so you may want to order a size up.

It is obvious that Be Love is dedicated to promoting nonviolence through the messages on their shirts, and through supporting peace education through the sale of their eco-friendly apparel. So, check out Be Love's website here and support this eco-friendly clothing company and peace education, too.
