In today's health conscious society, cooking well and eating well are just as important as living well. Part of today's theories on living well include the attitude that "greener" is better. Better for you and better for the environment. Here's a list of five eco-friendly cookware and bakeware products and manufacturers of eco-friendly cooking products that will paint your kitchen "green" in no time.

Kinetic's line of glass storage containers, called Glasslock is a greener alternative than traditional plastic storage wear found in most kitchens. The plastic containers are known to emit a chemical called BPA, which can be harmful. The Glasslock line is non-toxic and non-reactive. A set of three different sized containers retails for about $27.

EarthPan II products utilize an eco-friendly coating process called SandFlow into their design. Instead of traditional non-stick coatings that contain chemicals like PTOE and PFOA. the SandFlow process uses common sand. A 10 piece set of pots and lids retails for about $165.

Tramontina's brand of stainless steel cookware also features a chemical-free non-stick coating process. Tramontina takes the eco-friendliness of its products one step further by promising that every component of the cookware as well as the packaging of their products is completely biodegradable or recyclable. A set of eight pieces of Tramontina cookware retails for about $100.

Cuisinart Greenware uses a non-stick coating that is ceramic based, which allows for more even cooking. The handles on the products are made from seventy percent recycle stainless steel. Cuisinart Greenware comes with a lifetime warranty. The packaging is make from one hundred percent recycled materials and is printed with soy ink. The ten piece set of Cuisinart Greenware retails for about $150.

The Eco-Chef Pan from Starfit is made of ninety nine percent recycled aluminum and has a handle constructed of bamboo. The Eco-Chef Pan also uses the ceramic based coating in its construction. The pan retails for about $35.
