Start with the invitations. Hand-made invitations from recycled paper is an artistic way of inviting your guests to attend. It also promotes the theme of your art show in a classy and unique way.
Limit the light at your show to natural light and candles. This will cut down on the electricity you use. Instead, reserve the spotlight for setting your art pieces as the focal points, where you can use lamps with energy saving bulbs to illuminate them.
One of the most important things at your green art show is your menu. Limit the selection to all-natural foods and vegetable and fruit appetizers. This is a great way to get creative when using fruit and vegetables, as there are so many delicious ways you can use them. Instead of chips and processed snacks you can offer dried fruit and lightly salted vegetable sticks. These are really easy to make, and only require a food dehydrator.
For beverages cut back on bottled drinks and soda by offering an all-natural juice bar equipped with a blender and a juicer. Encourage guests to mix their own juices by choosing from an array of fresh fruit and vegetables. If this is too much of a hassle for you, you can always pre-juice produce like carrots and beets and store them in pitchers so that they are ready to serve.
Use recycled paper plates and napkins made from recycled paper. Recycle glass jars from pasta sauces, etc. by using them as cups. Assign a jar to each guest by decorating it beautifully with a little paint, and add their name on it if you'd like.
Complete the setting by adding live music. Local talent is always around and willing to play for exposure. A guitarist or a small band that plays jazz or other complementing music will ensure that your guests have a great time.
Hosting a green art show is easier than you think. With a little preparation and some thought you can put together a very creative and eco-friendly occasion that you and your guests will greatly enjoy.
