Eco-friendly Lunch Bags for Elementary Schoolers

Britt Baker
Beyond packing your children fresh, organic fruits, veggies, grains, and nuts for lunch, it is important to remember that your children's lunch bag should be eco-friendly, too. Instead of giving your elementary schoolers a disposable brown paper or plastic bag to carry their lunches in, have your children use an eco-friendly, reusable alternative. Today, there are a number of green lunch bags and lunch boxes to choose from, made from a variety of environmentally-friendly materials and you can find plenty to fit your budget. Check out these eco-friendly lunch bags for elementary schoolers to make your children's lunches even greener:

Eco Bags

Eco Bags has a number of eco-friendly lunch bag options for elementary schoolers. Their bags are made out of materials such as organically grown, responsively harvested, and recycled cotton. Many of Eco Bags' lunch bags are also very affordable - a few varieties are even under $10. Along with Eco Bags' eco-friendly lunch bags, you can also find reusable bamboo utensils and stainless steel containers perfect for making your elementary schoolers' lunches more garbage-free.

Laptop Lunches

Laptop Lunches, called "bento-ware for everywhere" on their website, are sustainable lunch boxes that are reusable and dishwasher safe, as well as recyclable. These popular, eco-friendly lunch boxes for elementary schoolers are lead, bisphenol A (BPA), and phthalate free, and each eco-friendly Laptop Lunches box comes with a book with healthy lunch ideas and tips.

Ju Ju Be BeLicious

Ju Ju Be's BeLicious lunch bags are an awesome alternative to disposable lunch bags. These eco-friendly, reusable lunch bags are machine washable and come in cute patterns. The Ju Ju Be BeLicious lunch bags also come with a gel pack and a zip out bottom compartment and a detachable shoulder strap for easy carrying.

Bazura

Bazura offers some great, green lunch bags perfect for elementary school kids. Bazura's lunch bags are made out of recycled juice packs by a women's co-op in the Philippines, which keeps these non-biodegradable juice packs out of landfills. This also means each of Bazura's reusable, eco-friendly lunch bags is also handmade, as well as unique.

This variety of eco-friendly lunch bags for elementary schoolers is sure to give you something both you and your children will love that's better for the environment, too!

Good to know. We use reusable bags, but I am not sure how green they are. Still, gotta be better than throw away bags.
