Eco-friendly Orlando Events for Earth Day

Earth Day is like a day of atonement for the earth, where all its inhabitants get to reflect on what we've done with the earth so far. We get to decide what old habits we can throw out and what good habits we can incorporate back into our lifestyle.

There are a lot of events happening in the Orlando Metro are that will awaken your inner consciousness to this beautiful sphere we call home.

Central Florida Home & Garden Show Center is being held at the Orange County Convention Center. The event is on Friday, March the 13th from 10 am to 9 pm and the tickets cost $10.00. There will be demonstrations, shows and advice on how to maintain your home and garden and make it more eco-friendly.

Harry P. Leu Gardens located at 1920 N. Forest Avenue, Orlando, FL 32803 is having its Leu Gardens' Annual Plant Sale form March 21-22, 2009.

There is a Spring Orchid Show and Sale on April 4-5, 2009

Seminole County UF/IFAS Extension Auditorium is holding a program called Trees: Selection, Installation and Maintenance on March the 12th from the hours of 9 am to 12 pm. the program will focus on how to landscape aesthetically using trees. The Seminole County Cooperative Extension is also holding an opportunity to adopt a tree with the help of Orange County Mayor Richard T. Crotty. You must provide proof of Orange County residence to obtain a tree. They will be at these locations on these dates:

The Orlando Science Center is holding too green-worthy events. Open every day except Wednesday from 10 am to 5 pm is "H2Now: The Great Hydrogen X-Change" where you can have an interactive experience in getting to know the great benefits of refurbishing hydrogen power. The tickets are $15.00 per person and the exhibit ends May 24th.

Ending June 24th at the Orlando Science Center is Grand Canyon Adventure. Watch a visual rendition of river rapids and the auspicious majesty of the Grand Canyon to remind everyone of how precious and powerful is our water.
