Economic Recession - Who Suffers the Most? (Updated)

The economic recession is impacting everyone's life. Many people lost their homes, their jobs, and their money. We always tell our children how tough it is during this recession, how hard to live, etc. But have you stopped for one second, took a deep breath, and to think it that way? We are not the only victims of this global economic recession, how about our children? Our next generation? They also suffer the anxieties and depressions as we do, the problems are however, not like the adults, we are not easy to spot the children's fears.

CBS News reported this morning that teens are now facing grim employment prospects. Traditionally, summer jobs have been a great way for teen to earn some money, some working experiences, and some social aspects. However, the number of the U.S. teens who are looking for a summer job has slided to all-time-low. Why is that? That because many experienced adult workers are also looking for the jobs that traditionally considered as summer spots. You can see that how tough is the U.S. job market right now. Teen workers have no working experiences, no degrees, and most importantly, they are not old enough. If you are a employer, who will you hire? An experienced and educated adult or a teen without any experience and qualification? The reasons are very obvious.

Teens have difficulties find a summer job during the recession, what about the younger children? They also feel anxious and depressed like us, even though they are not required to work right now. CBS News Correspondent Anthony Mason talked to a 12-year-old girl who said how she understands the reality of this tough economic time. This girl said she watched her mother lost her job and the family lost its home.

The global economic recession doesn't only impact the adults' lives, but also our children and teens, and the impacts will be more far-reaching.
