We are currently faced with rising fuel costs, rising food costs and, well, let's face it, anything that we buy is rising in cost. Will this trend continue, even out, or will we ever see the prices that we once did?
All signs are pointing to that we are going to continue to see the cost of fuel rising. Some random predictions have stated that Americans can expect fuel to be well over $6/per gallon by the end of the Summer. Some predictions are that fuel costs have almost reached their max. I am sticking with the no less then $6/per gallon for regular gas, and my guess is that people who drive diesel engines, such as the ones that deliver our supplies to stores all around the country are going to be seeing $7 to $8 per gallon by year's end.
Once again, the rising cost of diesel will dramatically increase the amount we are spending in the grocery lines. Some people around the U.S are paying over $4 a gallon for Milk. The average grocery bill for a family of 3 is around $300-$400 per month. If you have a larger family then you maybe spending $500-$600 per month. With prices all around us increasing, that $300-$600 could easily increase by another $200 a month with the current financial situation.
Also with the rising cost of fuel, and food, fewer families that once were living the "American Dream" will be taking their Summer family vacations. Instead they will be fighting to save their homes, fighting to feed their children and themselves, and fighting to pay for fuel to get back and forth to work on a daily basis so they can continue to pay higher and higher costs for everything they have to have in order to survive.
Ending out 2008 and moving into 2009, will we see any relief? Will something change to lower the outrageous prices we are currently paying?
Some news reports in the past 6 months have said after the 2008 presidential elections, there will be relief for the current economy. All we can do while we try to survive between now and then is hope. Hope that something changes so that we do not see $6-$8 per gallon for fuel, hope that something changes before we are spending $800 a month to feed our families, and hope that there is a plan to save the "American Dream". After all our Country is built on that very fading dream.

Post a CommentGreat article! Unfortunately, the same problems have went beyond 2009 and throughout 2010 as well. I think it will only get worse from here on out.
very nice job! Hugz CJ
You are so right; going to the grocery store is killing me. Every month it seems to go up by $20.
(shaking head) gas prices are affecting so much! Timely topic!
